25.01.2022 Today students at St. Joseph's wrapped up National Science Week with some experiments! We discovered that the transfer of electrons creates static electricity to make our dancing ghosts, the difference in density between water and oil in our underwater fireworks experiment and observed the effects of sodium chloride (salt) when added to ice to reward our hard work and make our very own ice cream!
24.01.2022 It was a bright and sunny day for our School Athletics Carnival today. Even though this year's carnival was very different to previous years, the students were enthusiastic, determined and full of joy. Everyone put in their best efforts and enjoyed the day.
23.01.2022 It has been an exciting finish to Term 2 here at St. Joey's with the construction of our enormous sandpit! Earlier this year we successfully applied for a Federal Government grant to construct a sandpit, adding to the play equipment at school. This great resource was constructed to provide another opportunity for play based learning to occur at our school. Research informs us that play based learning is a powerful and important activity in the development of our children. It has a natural and positive influence on children’s social, physical, emotional and cognitive development. We take this opportunity to thank all members of our school and community because, without their support, this project wouldn't have come to fruition.
20.01.2022 In 2020, St Joseph's is offering a FREE program for children transitioning to their first year at school next year. This is an all day program which runs every Friday. Contact the school on 02 4997 4189 to find out more.
19.01.2022 We have celebrated NAIDOC week this week and it culminated in a NAIDOC liturgy led by our students. We'd like to post some of the things our students said in our liturgy today: My Welcome to Country from the heart - Zaybien: "Welcome to my country. This is Worimi country. In my country I wish for you to respect everyone for who they are, no matter the colour of their skin. I wish for you to care for the environment in my country. If you don't care for the environment, my country is destroyed. Please respect the elders of my country and people like me, an emerging elder." Please click on each photo for more words from our students
17.01.2022 In Science, 2/3/4 have been learning about how agricultural processes are used to grow plants and raise animals for food, clothing, and shelter. Today they designed their own product to support the growth of a plant, making their own terrariums. Now they will observe them, collect data and track growth.

08.01.2022 Book Week 2020: Curious Creatures, Wild Minds... We had a blast today dressing up for Book Week. Thank you to Mrs Greene and Mrs Arnett for organising such a wonderful, fun-filled day!
05.01.2022 It was a fantastic day today at St Joey's with our Socktober penalty shoot out! Congratulations to all students who were involved in this fundraising effort (and our specialist goalkeeper Mr Thomson). Don't forget you can still get family and friends to sponsor your child online at https://www.socktober.org.au//schools/st-josephs-bulahdelah and if you used the fundraising card, bring that into school next week with your collected money.
