24.01.2022 Round 2 was proudly bought to us by Prance Timber Flooring. Here is our team of the week Jake Sali (c) 106* - Jake batted through the innings to help build a score for us to defend and put pressure on the Mountain Gate Batsmen.... Kyle Chandler 83 - Chang turned back the clock in an innings that was full of aggression. A great opening stand of 129 with Jake. Dean Palandri 102 - Dean played another classy innings bringing up a well deserved century in the 2s teams score of 198 to set up a winning score Mark Thomson 39 & 2/10 - welcome to the Saints Mark. Mark’s innings was full of aggression and backed it up with some tidy bowling in the vets 3 win. Dave Van Hoorn 37 - another aggressive innings from Dave helped the team to a resounding win in Division 8 Aaron Grenda 25 & 1/11 (6) - played a role with the bat when the 1st were capitalising on their good start. Then backed it up with a tight spell to put Mountain Gate on the back foot from the start of their chase. Rachel Betteridge 21 & 1/18 (4) - our first female senior team of the week player! Bowled well against the strong Bayswater Park team and then played an aggressive innings in a good team performance. Bailey Elder 3/25 - with the 3s defending a relatively small target Bailey came on and together with Adrian Pixrex troubled the batsmen with a controlled spell to give the 3s a sniff. Aaron Priest 3/16 - what could he do if he trained. First time with ball in hand for the year Priesty ripped through the JP batting line up to help the team to victory Adam Lovell 3/22 &12 - Banger played a captains role in the Vets 1 loss, showing some class with bat and ball. Chris Manning 3/15 (8) - Turning into a true all rounder but showing his worth with the ball. The clubs highest ever Male run scorer has a new spring in his step but this time with the ball. 12th Brett Brett Smitty Smith 24 & 0/10 (7) Another fine innings with the bat for Brett, followed up with a very tidy spell. 13th Anthony Chandler - goth the 3s off to a blistering start with 35 off 28 balls. Well done to all players and thanks again to Prance for your ongoing support. Apologies to any performers in the vets 2 at the time of going to print the scores were not to hand.
