24.01.2022 Today is Indigenous Literacy Day. Run by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, Indigenous LIteracy Day 2020 - a day for celebrating reading and writing, and our love of language and learning, a new video will be launched that shares an important story. A story that is told by the Indigenous community that celebrates the joy, excitement and power of the books children in remote communities are creating. Having your language and culture represented in a book is vital for literacy development and cultural preservation. Language is the glue that binds us, says our Board Director and Community Representative, Leitha Assan. It keeps our First Nations' identity, culture and connection to Country, strong. The video can be accessed at https://www.facebook.com/watch/

20.01.2022 What a lovely weekend it's been...some nice rain overnight and sunshine today. Let's hope we can see some more restrictions reduced this week before our holidays start! One week to go of Term 3 and what a term it has been. Our school is amazing! We are such a supportive, creative and untiring community who just keeps working to get the best out of us all. Holidays will be a chance to recharge, ready for the last quarter!! The term finishes at 2:30pm on Friday. Attached, a funny post I saw this morning (would you class it as a teacher joke??? )

19.01.2022 This week we celebrate NAIDOC week. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded. Always Was, Always Will Be.

11.01.2022 R U OK? What better time than now to shine a light on the way we can help the little people in our life recognise that it's ok not to be ok sometimes and to understand the ways they can help others. Our current circumstances are challenging for all of us at the moment (little AND big people included). We'd love you to watch this very short clip that reminds us of how we can simply look out for each other in these difficult times.

11.01.2022 Our Year 6 Student Leaders leading our reverent Remembrance Day ceremony. Well done to Mrs Patterson and the student leaders for organising this today.

Jemma, Jess, and Lilly created packs (face washers, soaps, chocolates, body wash) that was delivered to the Royal Freemason. Well done everyone.

06.01.2022 Uniform Shop: Unfortunately all size 16 and small boys grey shorts are out of stock possibly until the end of the year. Sorry for any inconvenience.

05.01.2022 We continue sharing what our Yr 56 students have done for our community. We are so proud of them and hope the hard work they have put in is reward in itself (let alone the knowledge that they are helping others. ) Giving back is a wonderful and personal gift. Isla, Alexis, Molly Rose and Melanie have organised a book swap trolley which we are currently adding to, to use next year. (if you have any picture books or novels they would be well received) Jock and Hayden made up a pack with cookies and a card to share with others in our community. Macey and Chloe have made packs with cards, bookmarks and fridge magnets to give out to the elderly.

05.01.2022 The Yr56 students have been working on different ways to continue building positive feelings to help them in these uncertain times. We have been learning and practicing gratitude. How do we explain gratitude? We found this definition which we think is perfect! Gratitude is simply cultivating a genuine appreciation for what we already have. The students would like to share some of their thoughts. This is the first clip, another one to follow next week.

05.01.2022 A beautiful liturgy to begin our last day of school together led by Mrs Borserio and our Year 5 leaders. As well as a few happy snaps of our Year 5s gifting their Prep buddies a special gift they will be bringing home tonight.

03.01.2022 Some positive news throughout this difficult time... Last term our 5/6s had started working on a RE unit of work which centred around learning about the ways to continue the mission of Jesus in our school and the local community. Students had started to plan ways to give back to our local neighbourhood before we were once again back into remote learning. We hoped to continue this work next term, and further promote and extend our outreach in our local community. ... Two of our students decided to continue this project and were able to create care packages for each resident of St Laurence Court, Eaglehawk while this facility is under restrictions. Congratulations to Brenna & Isabella for your leadership, determination and compassion, this has certainly brightened many lives today. We pray for the elderly in our community who may be alone or unwell, we ask God to look over them, to comfort them, and to give them hope just as these students have. Special thanks to Julie from Urthly Organics and Tony from The Australian Eucalyptus Oil Co. for their kind and generous donations which the students included in their care packages.

03.01.2022 Heading into Week 8. Hope you were able to enjoy the sunshine. Remember to stay in contact, ask for support and stay safe! This week's funny photo...hope it makes you smile.
