10.01.2022 Services at St Marks, Beatty St, Reservoir Suspended. Last night, Rev Hamish Erskine met with Alex Tulloh and Lyn McHugh, wardens of St Marks, to determine if it was wise to continue to conduct Services at St Marks in this climate of threat to our health from the COVID-19 virus. We noted that other Churches have made the decision to suspend services - Roman Catholic, Anglican Churches in Sydney and Tasmania, and many, particularly large congregations affected by the Governme...nts decision regarding large indoor gatherings. We were torn between the pressure to isolate to contribute to the community efforts to retard the spread of the virus, and our desire to meet together for worship, and mutual support within our Church family. Out of love for those in our congregation who are more vulnerable to this disease, and a desire to avoid any action which may, jeopardise their wellbeing, we made the decision to not conduct a service at St Marks this Sunday March 22nd, and until further notice. This is clearly not a decision taken lightly. We are determined to retain our cohesion as the body of Christ in this area, despite this unprecedented action. Some Churches have some form of live streaming in place. Maintaining the routine of engaging with a worship will be possible with this technology - for those who have access to it. St Hilarys Kew stream their Sunday service at 10.30am St Johns Diamond Creek stream Sunday services at 9.30am and 6pm
