22.01.2022 Another end of year event....today our Yr 5’s & Yr 6’s competed against each other in the traditional end of year volleyball game. Congratulations Yr 6 - winners!!! Please see photos below of team captains Tom & Ollie and the two teams. Don’t forget St Marys students finish at midday tomorrow. Please reconvene at the pool at 3.30pm for a 4.00pm start for our twilight swimming carnival!! We can’t wait!!!

21.01.2022 AMEN!!! . We have reached WEEK 10! What a term!!! The team at St Marys would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters of the school (parents, grandparents & friends) for a marvellous Term 3. We look forward to an even better Term 4! On Friday, we congratulated our lower school classes & perpetual trophy winners from the Performing Arts Festival. We also thanked our teachers for their hard work in preparing classes for the PAF, especially considering the year o...f interruptions we have already had. Please see photos below. We also bade farewell to Miss Bretheton, who spent a seven week practicum in 2/3. Please see photo below. This morning on Assembly, we congratulated students who took part in the TCSO Student Protection Week Art Competition & received a highly commended award. A special congratulations to Edwina Jansen. Edwina’s artwork was awarded a 2nd out of all of the artwork submitted in the diocese, in her age group. Well done Edwina! In other news for the week - St Marys welcomes Mrs Rebecca McGreggor, Mrs Julie Henderson & Mr Paul Murphy from TCSO this week. They are here to relieve teachers & plan with them for next term. Thank you TCSO for the support! Please see photos below. - Tuckshop orders are due Wednesday for Tuckshop on Thursday. Please note LASAGNA IS NOT AVAILABLE this week. - Our JUMP OFF for Jump Rope for Heart is this Wednesday. Prep & 1/2 will skip from 8.30-9.30, 2/3, 4/5 & 5/6 will skip from 9.30-10.30. There’s still time to sign up online! - Thursday is our last day of school for students. Friday is a pupil free day. Teachers will use this day to plan for next term. - All overdue books should be returned to the library by this Thursday. Students are able to borrow double books for the holidays if all overdue books are returned. - Work on our ammenities block continues this week with staff toilets being the focus. Please see photo below. - Mr Ward is unwell & will not be at school this week. Mrs Lines is deputising in his absence. HAVE A RELAXING HOLIDAY

21.01.2022 NO TIME TO WHINE....WE’RE IN WEEK 9!!!! Work on our new ammenities block has begun!!! This week the ground is being prepared for foundations, etc. We’ll keep you updated on progress being made!! Please note students need to walk around the front of the school and through the rose garden to access the CobbnCo & Tuckshop whilst work is taking place. Thank you to staff who attended Mass on Saturday night & helped out with readings. Please see photos below. ... We are practising hard for Jump Rope for Heart!! We have a talented bunch of skippers here at St Marys!! Don’t forget to register your child online. A note was sent home on Thursday. Our ‘jump off’ is on Wednesday September 16. In other news this week: - Tuckshop orders due Thursday for Tuckshop on Friday - Breaky club Monday & Wednesday mornings. Thank you CWAATSICH!!! - Yr 4/5 are off to the COSMOS centre on Friday as part of their science unit this term!!! Thank you Mrs Fisher for organising!! - Get those overdue books in!! We have double borrowing from the library in week 10, as long as all overdue loans are returned. Remember we read everyday at St Marys!!! - HAVE A NIFTY WEEK 9!!!!

18.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS ST MARYS STUDENTS 2020 Jump Rope for Heart CHAMPIONS!!!!!! Please enjoy photos below of our students completing their ‘Jump off’ to raise money for the Heart Foundation. As of Wednesday afternoon, our students have raised a WHOPPING $2524.12!!!!!!! Parents, Mrs Lines will be ordering thank you prizes tomorrow. Please finalise any fundraising on the JRFH page tonight so the correct prizes can be ordered for your child. ... THANK YOU ST MARYS FOR A FABULOUS JUMP OFF!!!

What an incredible swimming carnival - dare we say ‘best one ever??’ Thank you to our timekeepers, staff, Mick & Sue at the pool, the beautiful ‘girl in a million’ Mrs Lyn Capewell for chiefing and our special guest, Kurt Capewell, Xavier house captain 2005, for doing presentations & signing a million autographs!! 16.01.2022 WHAT A WEEK!!! As we travel into Week 8, St Marys would like to welcome Mr Peter Moloney. Mr Moloney is the former Principal of Assumption College in Warwick and will be our Acting Principal until the end of year. Please be sure to give Peter a St Marys welcome when you see him around the school!!! Today Mrs Sheehan presented our Awards night Inspirational readers with a voucher from Charleville newsagent. A huge thank you to Charleville CWA for sponsoring this award. Our ...P&F (represented by Mrs Renee Jansen) also presented our state trials representative, Jordyn Thureson with $100. A big thank you to our P & F! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

15.01.2022 WHAT A WEDNESDAY!!!! St Marys leaders have had a busy day, representing the school at NAIDOC celebrations & the Remembrance Day ceremony at the town cenotaph. We were very excited to join with Charleville State School this morning to decorate the median strip & fence lines of the school for NAIDOC week. Please see photos below. ... 14.01.2022 St Mary’s certainly HAS TALENT!! We were lucky enough to be entertained this morning by a multitude of talented students!!! 11.01.2022 ST MARY’S CONTINUES TO WELCOME OUR NEW STAFF FOR 2021! Welcome Miss Taylor Morrison, who will teach Yr 4/5 in 2021. Miss Morrison asked to be considered specifically for a position at St Mary’s & is keen to gain experience in a rural setting. Taylor recently completed a Bachelor of Education at Australian Catholic University and is excited to discover & partake in experiences unique to South West Queensland. ... Miss Morrison was able to spend time with some of her students in 2020 - as she spent a day in our 4/5 class - & is excited to get to know all of her students, their families & the wider St Marys community. Please join us in welcoming Taylor to our St Mary’s community!

09.01.2022 Our fantastic P & F is running a Christmas photo fundraiser this Thursday night at the Charleville Christmas Street Party!!! This is their only fundraiser for the year!! Please support them so they can support our students - like Jordyn Thureson, representing St Marys & South West sport at state cricket trials this week!!! Hit hard Jordy!!!

09.01.2022 ISN’T IT GREAT!!!! WE’VE HIT WEEK 8!!!! This week St Marys welcomes Mr Peter Moloney as Acting Principal. Please see a photo of Peter with our school captains, Lira & Fergus, below. The last 8 school days of the year are going to be action packed!!! On this week: - Yr 6 Graduation liturgy & dinner are tonight Monday 23rd November. Could all Yr 6 students please arrive at the church at 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start. Dinner in the town hall will commence at 6.30pm sharp. - St Ma...rys Got Talent is this Wednesday November 25, starting at 11.30am in the PAH. Parents are welcome!! Always a fun part of our end of year celebrations! - The annual Yr 5 vs Yr 6 Volleyball Game is this Thursday at 8.30am in the CobbnCo. In other news: - Leadership speeches for 2021 captains are on Tuesday, Nov 17th at 9am sharp in the PAH. Yr 5 parents are welcome. 2021 school captains will be announced during our end of year liturgy, December 2nd. - Awards night is Tuesday, Nov 17 at 530pm for a... 6pm start in the Cobb n Co. If you haven’t registered your attendance, please do so by tomorrow morning. Each family is allowed two guests. Thank you to our hard working P& F committee for the planning & organisation of this event. - Thank you to our prep class for their beautiful re-telling of the nativity at last Friday’s Assembly. 08.01.2022 AMEN!! We have reached WEEK 10!!!! What an incredible year it has been. To give thanks for our amazing school community, we will have our end of year liturgy this Wednesday, December 2nd, in the church at 9am. After the liturgy, students are free to leave with parental permission. The school will supervise remaining students until 2.40pm. 06.01.2022 In week 6, we celebrate NAIDOC WEEK! The 2020 theme: ‘Always was, Always Will be’. Senior students will decorate the median strip on Wills st with CSS leaders on Wednesday November 11th. We will run a NAIDOC activities session for the whole school on Friday November 13th in the middle session 11.15am-1.15pm. In other news this week: - Our school captains will represent St Marys at the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph, 11am on Wednesday November 11th. Lest We Forge...t. - Awards night letters went out today for each family. Please fill out your form & return to the school by Nov 13 if you wish to attend. Due to COVID regulations, there is a limit of 2 guests per family, not including students. Our Awards night is on the 17th of November. Thank you to our fantastic P & F for taking on a organisational role to make this night happen!! - Tuckshop orders due Thursday for Tuckshop on Friday - Last swimming lessons for the term are this Thursday, 12th of November. Please see photos below of students preparing for our Swimming Carnival on November 27th! - We held our last Mini Marys session last Friday. We were delighted to be able to gift our future preppies with a St Marys library bag & book!! Thank you Mrs Sheehan!! 06.01.2022 Gee......That’s a wrap for term three!! Our teachers & school officers are STILL working, getting organised for Term 4 on this Pupil Free Day. We wish all of our wonderful students & wider school community a fantastic, restorative holiday!! ... Good luck to Jordyn Thureson, who will ride ‘Missing’ for St Marys at the State equestrian school titles in the middle week of the holidays. On Thursday our students prayed for Missing’s sore leg. Our prayers were answered as Missing has made an amazing recovery!! Go hard for St Marys Jordy & Missing! We will see you all back at school on Tuesday, October 6th.

03.01.2022 A Holiday update....... Good Luck to Jordyn Thureson & ‘Missing’ jumping for St Mary’s this morning at the QLD inter schools Equestrian event!!! It has been a long journey for Jordy & Missing, with COVID disruptions & injuries. We look forward to reporting their progress!!!

03.01.2022 WELCOME TO ST MARY’S 2021!!!!!!! St Mary’s is excited to welcome our new Principal, Mrs Katrina Dunne. Mrs Dunne looks forward to meeting all of our students & parents and working with them, our staff & parish this year. Mrs Dunne is already a member of the St Mary’s community, with daughters Lily & Katy attending the school. ... Our office is open today, Monday, 11th January. Our teachers & most staff return to school Monday, 18th of January. Students return to school Wednesday 27 January. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!!!

02.01.2022 WEEK 7 IS PERFORMING ARTS WEEK! We are SO EXCITED to be a part of the Charleville Performing Arts festival this Thursday, Friday & Saturday!!! Please pop on over to the Charleville Performing Arts Festival Facebook page to view the program & times. Yr 4/5 & 5/6 will be bused up to the festival on Friday morning. Younger grades have performed virtually due to COVID restrictions. Good luck everyone!!!! In other news: - Congratulations Jordyn Thureson who has qualified to comp...ete at the State interschool event in dressage & 50cm showjumping. What a strong show of support for our school. - Our younger students enjoyed a visit from Bravehearts on Friday morning. This organisation teaches students about personal safety. 02.01.2022 Hmmmmm.....what are these interesting objects that have been dropped into the St Marys office??? Ohhh, that’s right, we recently competed in the Charleville Performing Arts Festival!!! Trophies will be presented to classes & individuals at this Friday’s Assembly, 2pm, in the PAH. Parents, if you are able to attend, please comply with social distancing protocols. 02.01.2022 MORE NEW STAFF FOR 2021.....WELCOME TO ST MARY’S - Miss Imogen Hunt! Miss Hunt will teach our Year One class in 2021. Imogen has recently completed her Bachelor of Education at Australian Catholic University, specialising in Early Childhood and was keen to complete a rural placement. She looks forward to getting to know our St Mary’s families, Charleville community & taking part in the great social events around town. ... Miss Hunt was able to meet our Year One 2021 students last year, spending a day in Prep with them. Please join us in welcoming Imogen to our St Mary’s community.

02.01.2022 ST MARY’S WELCOMES OUR NEW STAFF IN 2021!!!! We are delighted to welcome Ms Susan McInnes to the St Mary’s staff! Susan will teach sport and science in 2021 and brings a wealth of knowledge & experience in these key learning areas. ‘Ms Mac’ will be at school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Sport & Science timetables will be released closer to school resuming. ... It’s going to be a fun 2021!!!!
