22.01.2022 Hot water bottle covers are small and simply shaped. They provide the perfect 'canvas' for endless variety of textile artistry.

20.01.2022 SOUND ON [Part one of three] These sound compositions by sound artist Philip Samartzis were produced from raw material recorded during three residencies in... the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia including the Dampier Peninsula, Warmun and Kununurra. Hear the diverse soundscapes of these three regions paired with artworks from the NGV Collection by artists from these regions. To listen to the soundscape in its entirety --> https://bit.ly/34lqx3t #NGVEveryDay Sound Recordist: Philip Samartzis Sound Recordist: Madelynne Cornish About the sound artist: Philip Samartzis is a sound artist, scholar and curator with a specific interest in the social and environmental conditions informing remote wilderness regions and their communities. Samartzis is an Associate Professor within RMIT School of Art, and the artistic director of the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture. Tura New Music’s Regional and Remote Residency program: In carrying out these projects with community, Tura and the artists acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands visited respectively being the Bardi, Gija and Miriwoong people, their ongoing connection to and care of the land and honour their elders past, present and emerging. For these residency projects, Tura partnered with, and thanks, the Djarindjin, Lombadina and Ardyaloon Aboriginal Corporations, Warmun Art Centre, Warmun Community Inc and Waringarri Aboriginal Arts. The Residencies were supported by State Government of Western Australia through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and The Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding advisory body as well as Healthway. 16.01.2022 When I saw the 2019 documentary [The Final Quarter] about Adam’s final season of AFL football my guts were churning as I relived Adam’s experiences with relent...less racism on and off the field. As I watched, memories of my own experiences were stirred up and I knew I wanted to reach out and reconnect with Adam. We share some similar stories and experiencesof disconnection from culture, language and country, and the constant pressures of being an Aboriginal man in this country. https://www.artforum.com//vincent-namatjira-becomes-first-

14.01.2022 Get in touch if you'd like to visit the studio. With the open studios event for November cancelled, I'm taking visitors by appointment. It's kind of slow and personal (and covid-safe) and I don't mind it at all.

09.01.2022 Open in Yarragon this weekend

08.01.2022 Open this weekend

06.01.2022 We are very sorry to say we have decided to cancel our event. A few artists will go ahead and open their studios independently on the weekend of November 14 & 1...5. This won’t be part of an event, and there won’t be any ticketing or entry charges. You just come and visit. We suggest you contact artists directly using the details on our site (link in bio). You will be able to find out if a particular studio will be open, or even make a ‘by appointment visit’ for another time when you might be visiting the area. Once again our sincere apologies for cancelling the event and we hope to be back in March 2021.
