25.01.2022 "Hi, my name is Daniella and I have been a Preschool educator at Story house early learning since 2016. A little information about me, my background, my passion for education and my general philosophy for approaching my role as an educator. I graduated college in 2015 receiving my Diploma in children’s services. I believe that all good education begins with a positive relationship between the educator and the child. I feel extremely grateful to be in a profession where I get... the opportunity to view children grow and learn every day. I work towards creating learning environments that are engaging, authentic, and child centered. I approach education as a process of co collaboration where the educator and child work together to create the learning experiences. My goal as a preschool Educator is to assist each child to develop the life skills in preparation for primary school." See more

22.01.2022 This week we look to place the spotlight on National Child Protection Week, with the theme. "Putting children first". NAPCAN - Play Your Part invite all Australians to look at how they can prioritise children in their lives and communities and to engage in National Child Protection Week as individuals, and as part of families, organisations, communities and society. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. #childrights #childprotection

22.01.2022 "Hi, my name is Sally & I have completed a Master of Teaching (Birth-5) at the Institute of Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Teaching (primary) through Charles Sturt University. I have been in the education industry for 5 years, 2 years in the early years (0-5yrs). I worked mainly with children with learning difficulties before becoming an Early Childhood Teacher. I currently work in 0-2-year-old nursery room. What does being an Early Childhood Teacher mean to me? Being an EC Teacher means everything to me. It means that I have been fortunate enough and privileged to become an integral part of the children’s lives. I am able to care for them and with their respect and trust I am able to walk alongside them during their journey for living and learning (Arthur, Beecher, Death, Dockett & Farmer, 2015)."

20.01.2022 "Hi there, my name is Kathryn Mikan and I am the Service Manager for Story House Early Learning Putney. I have worked in the industry for 17 plus years and during this time I have worked my way up to management. I have always taken an interest in caring for others, especially young children. I started my career path when I completed my HSC in 2002 and I had also completed my Certificate III in childrens services. I started off as a casual babysitter before becoming a full-t...ime nanny, which led me to make the decision to further my skills and qualifications by studying my Diploma in Childrens Services. Whilst studying I worked part time and then full time, as this allowed me to put my training and knowledge into practise. To further my career, I am looking into studying my ECT Birth to 5 years. I have always had a passion to work with young children, to watch them learn, develop and grow is what makes my job so rewarding. See more

13.01.2022 CAN WE BUILD IT? The educators of Story House Putney spent their Saturday morning building some awesome equipment with the help of Pallet play!... Pallet play is a Canberra based business that runs inspiring workshops and creates play spaces for early childhood education settings using reclaimed and recycled materials. Aaron supplied us with a wide variety of tools such as drills, table saws, jigsaws, sanders and much more. We were put to work and built three structures: a tee-pee, a bridge and a house with a gate. Amazingly, these were all made with recycled pallets AND by the amazing educators at Putney! It was truly an amazing day and left us inspired to keep creating (and maybe a trip down to Bunnings for some toys!).
