25.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS JESSE BAIN We congratulate Sydney Projects Jesse Bain who was recognised by Laing O'Rouke at our ETP Sydney University project for looking out for his workmates including the first year Apprentice he was Supervising. Jessie identified that works from the previous day by other trades had covered up a hazard and Jesse alerted the other trades in the area and isolated the area before notifying the Site Safety Team.... Great initiative and well done to Jesse for looking out for his fellow work mates and others.

24.01.2022 Stowe Australia Apprentice Mentoring Program It is with great excitement that Stowe Australia has this week launched the newly developed Apprentice Mentoring Program to support and mentor our new apprentices commencing with us in 2021. We are proud to share with you that our mentors have completed stage one of their training and are keen to establish a positive working relationship with our new apprentices as well as meeting their parents at the 'Welcome to Stowe' night in ...February 2021. Our mentors are being drawn from Sydney Client Services, Sydney Construction and Western Division. We are very appreciative that they are volunteering their time to work with our new apprentices. Our mentors for 2021 are: Brodie Michael, Darren Donnelly, Kieran Casey, Simon Safadi, Derek Brooker, David Villavicencio, Frank Loukas, Tim Newbold, Rob Iacono, Adam Brumec, Dean Hosking, Roger O'Keefe, Jake Hosford, Chris Bateman, Mark Erickson, Tyson Walker, Jeremy Irving. The Apprentice Mentoring Program is also designed to deliver the message to apprentices on the importance of safety at work. Our mentors had the opportunity to listen to the first episode of the Stowe Connect Podcast with special guest Shane Webcke delivering his very powerful message on 'Playing it Safe at Work'. It is with pleasure to share this podcast series with you which was designed to connect with our staff but to also motivate, inspire and educate on trending topics in our industry plus so much more. STOWE PODCAST - EPISODE ONE: 'PLAYING IT SAFE' WITH SHANE WEBCKE https://www.stoweaustralia.com.au/podcast/ "Never ever be afraid to ask those above you the question, I feel like this is unsafe am I doing it right?" Shane Webcke Shane Webcke represented his country in 26 test appearances. His position was one of the toughest on the field of play, prop forward and at his peak he was renowned as the best front rower in the world. Alongside Glenn Lazarus and Arthur Beetson, Webcke is considered by many to have been one of the finest post-war front-rowers to play the game. Between 1995 until his retirement from the NRL in 2006, Shane played his entire club career with the Broncos winning 4 NRL premierships. Once hanging up the boots Shane turned his attention to sports presenting, writing, and his business interests including his farm and pub. Shane is now playing a significant role with the QLD Government and delivering a very powerful message of 'Playing It Safe' with Shane Webcke click on the link to watch Shane's message in full. https://www.stoweaustralia.com.au/podcast/

18.01.2022 Congratulations Danny Atkinson - 20 years service! October sees another dedicated Senior Manager at Stowe celebrate a 20-year milestone. Danny commenced his apprenticeship with Stowe back in 1993 and regards himself as the best apprentice the company has ever produced and tells us he has evidence to support his view. Danny's introduction to the trade was under the tutelage of the likes of Mark English, Jim Retterer and Mick Pawelko and reflects on these times as some of the... most valuable and memorable times of his life. Being a very capable sportsman and having a passion for Rugby League, on the successful completion of his apprenticeship in 1997 Danny turned his attention to a career with the Penrith Panthers playing lower grades for some years. Danny returned to Stowe in October of 2000 taking up a role as a junior Estimator in the Rydalmere office, complementing the team of David Bradshaw, Brian Jones, Aaron Gregg and Carry Dunn, some Stowe legends. It didn't take long for Danny to adjust the culture in the estimating department and work out that the best work was done in the late afternoons / early evenings when DM would walk up the back to the estimating table, crack out a beer, light up a smoke and discuss the projects that were up for tender and solve the industry's problems. After quickly mastering the estimators role, (purportedly) Danny accepted the opportunity to shadow Carry Dunn out to the Penrith office to help expand the company's profile in the region, which was a master stroke with the branch thriving with the energy and drive Danny brought with him to the branch. After much success in his role, Danny and his wife Sarah moved the family closer to Sarah's family near Lake Macquarie in 2004, but still making regular exhausting journeys to the Penrith office to ensure the success of the branch. After some long conversation and few beers, the decision was made to appoint Danny as the Construction Manager for our Newcastle / Central Coast Division in 2006 and some years later progressing to become the Branch Manager. Under Danny's guidance, the Newcastle and Central Coast division has experienced continued healthy growth and remarkable results delivering some of the regions flagship projects. Danny is well respected by his peers, liked by his colleagues and considered a genuine team player. We look forward to many more successful years, laughs and a few beers in years ahead. Congratulations Danny!
