24.01.2022 Immediately after God miraculously rescued the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt, they began worshipping a statue of a calf made of gold. Instead of praising God for his saving mercy they worshipped an idol! We might think, ‘how dumb is that?’, especially after they had a front row seat to God’s miracles in Egypt and at the Red Sea. And yet their idolatry is repeated by all of us at different points. Praise God for his forgiving mercy which frees us from slavery to our 'idols'. Our sermon today points us to the only one who can truly set us free!

24.01.2022 "Use it or lose it!" You may have heard that phrase applied to a number of different life scenarios, and it seems to fit our sermon text today! As you contemplate what God has graciously given you, I pray that you would use it - for God's glory! I pray that his gifts to you would inspire you to serve others in his name.

23.01.2022 Have you ever run away from God? Have you ever known what God wanted you to do, but you didn't want to do it? Well, that's exactly what Jonah did! However, when we look closely at his story, we discover the real reason for his resistance is quite startling and confronting. Our sermon explores Jonah's struggle and points us to the gracious mercy of God.

22.01.2022 Welcome Donna! We are thrilled that Donna has recently become part of the office team serving the St Paul's Lutheran congregation and Nundah community. Donna's role will be Church Secretary/Admin Assistant, working alongside Pastor Mark and Linda. Donna said in her interview that she loved the idea of serving God in the church where she was baptised and confirmed. Her other loves are family, singing and boating!

17.01.2022 There are many different kinds of evil in the world around us: random evil, intentional evil, catastrophic evil and everyday evil. In this weeks' petition of our Lord's Prayer sermon series, we ask God to "Deliver us from evil!" However, this request goes beyond asking God for protection from bad things happening to us, as it also includes the evil lurking within our own hearts! Praise God that he graciously does deliver us! (Click on the picture below to watch the service)

17.01.2022 God is constantly working to re-form us in the image of Christ. This weekend we celebrate Reformation Sunday and praise God for those people who faithfully pointed the church back to God's word and its focus on Christ alone as our only Saviour, whose gift of grace is ours through faith alone! Soli Deo gloria!

13.01.2022 The most challenging of all the petitions in the Lord's Prayer is this - "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us". This week's sermon examines the implications and joys of this petition. Praise God for his empowering forgiveness of us!

09.01.2022 As we celebrate All Saints Day, we give thanks to God for our loved ones who have died in the last 12 months, whom God has called to himself through faith in Christ. We also thank God for the faithful witness of those who have gone before us over the centuries and have pointed us to Jesus as the true hope and our loving Saviour.

05.01.2022 Do you like getting new clothes? Some people love the shopping aspect while some despise it! Our sermon this week speaks about the one who freely and graciously covers us with 'robes of righteousness' - perfect, spotless new clothes!

04.01.2022 Seats still available at the St Paul's Worship service on Sunday 27th @ 8:30am! Simply turn up on Sunday morning! No new online videos for a couple weeks though.

03.01.2022 We are surrounded by all sorts of temptations that entice us to take short cuts, cross boundaries, and ignore what is pleasing to God and healthy for community life with others. This week's sermon continues our series on the Lord's Prayer looking at the petition - "Lead us not into temptation".

02.01.2022 This final instalment of our sermon series on the Lord's Prayer invites us to praise God for all the wondrous things he has done for us! However, we need to be careful when we say 'Amen' to this prayer, because it has big implications for our lives! ... ... Our Father in heaven, hear our prayer and grant us your peace for the sake of Christ.

01.01.2022 Do you ever grow tired and weary from all your work and commitments? Do you ever grow burdened just through living your life? Our Lord Jesus has something to say if you do. He gives us a wonderful invitation - to come to him and rest! Lord, grant us your rest and peace!
