24.01.2022 Think F.A.S.T! In Australia, a stroke occurs every 9 minutes. Its National Stroke Week this week so Australians are being encouraged to learn the F.A.S.T signs... of a stroke (Face, Arms, Speech, Time) so they can get help quickly by calling 000. Around 56,000 Australians are affected by strokes, every single year. Its one of Australias biggest killers and causes of disability. The sooner a person gets help, the better the outcome. So remember, act F.A.S.T and help save a persons life.

24.01.2022 If you have any of these symptoms, you can get tested at the Marie Rose Centre in Dunwich between 10 and 11am. Phone first 34099059. Stay home until your Covid test is negative.

19.01.2022 ESSENTIALLY POISONOUS TO KIDS Did you know less than a teaspoon of essential oil can cause serious poisoning in a young child? The use of essential oils and vap...oriser fluids tends to increase in the winter months as people manage their cold & flu symptoms. Always use these products sparingly and only as directed. Pure essential oils are very concentrated and a few drops is all that is needed. Ingestion of essential oils and vaporiser fluids can cause vomiting, drowsiness and droplets can settle on the lungs causing serious respiratory symptoms. Always keep these products out of reach of children and away from medicines such as cough mixtures to prevent an accidental ingestion. Call the Poisons centre on 131126 following any accidental exposure to essential oils. #essentialoils #preventpoisons See more

09.01.2022 Eucalyptus oil may be natural but it is poisonous. As little as 5ml can cause serious poisoning in a child. With similar packaging it's easy to mix up eucalyptu...s oil or vaporiser fluid with cough mixtures, so please take extra care to check bottles when administering cough medicines and store separately out of reach of children. In the case of poisoning call the Poisons Centre on 131126. See more

01.01.2022 If you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, however mild, you should get tested for coronavirus (COVID-19). Free coronavirus (COVID-19) tests are available at s...tate and territory testing clinics. 01.01.2022 We get this question a lot, especially following the requirement for people to wear face masks in other parts of the country. Face masks can be a useful measur...e to help control sustained community transmission. Sustained community transmission is when we have multiple cases of locally acquired COVID-19 where contact tracing and testing is unable to identify how the person was infected. At the moment, there is no evidence to suggest that Queensland has any sustained community transmission. If you live in the greater region of Brisbane, a face mask might be suitable if: You are in a situation where social distancing cannot be maintained, i.e. public transport or a busy shopping centre If your GP has told you to wear one If you are caring for someone who has COVID-19 If you are attending a GP clinic, hospital or ED If you are sick and getting a COVID-19 test Face masks alone will not protect you from COVID-19. It is also vital that other COVID safe practices are followed, including: Washing hands often and thoroughly Maintaining a social distancing Covering coughs or sneezes Staying at home if unwell Getting tested if you're showing any signs of COVID-19.
