13.01.2022 Meet Glenda, She is a former boot camp chick who now has been training with me since June. Recently we had a chat about her goals and how she hasnt been consistent with her nutrition. Like everyone, she has her good days and bad days. Regardless this chick always rocks up to training, even on the days when she doesnt feel 100%! Yesterday she felt as if she needed to reassess her goals. ... We spoke about everything from mindset to nutrition, sleep and everything in between. We dont always see the changes that occur within us, whether its mental and physical. Sometimes you may feel that you arent getting anywhere and havent progressed at all. This is when looking at things from an objective, measurable source (such as photos, girth measurements and how your clothes fit) can fuel your motivation. Seeing the results of your hard work with your own eyes can really help make that difference. NOT TOO SHABBY she says as she sends these comparison photos that she took last Friday morning. You dont see the hard work you put in if your always hard on yourself. Give yourself a break and enjoy being you. Find your purpose and it will give you more reason to keep going.

09.01.2022 Heels elevated banded squats. Were finally getting some progress with this one @savannah.kincses . . . . Savs had lower back issues even before she initially started training with us. A lot of mobility through her thoracic, hips and even ankles has given her the ability to now strengthen areas shes never felt before. She was no where near capable of squatting like this when she first began. Its amazing.

08.01.2022 #Repost from @may_lareza Bad form Good Form . .... The video on the left is called The Shitting Dog and the one on the right is called a Romanian Stiff-legged deadlift. . . To avoid injuries, try bending forward and hinging at the hips as you go down (eccentric movement). Bring your chest out and your bottom back so you create an arch rather than the harbour bridge. Try keeping your legs as straight as possible to feel a stretch in the hamstrings and glutes. On the up phase of the movement (concentric) bring the bar back up by not curling it, bending the knees and then shrugging your shoulders, rather keep your chest out, plant your feet on the ground and keep the bar close to your thighs and stand tall. Through out the whole movement keep your head neutral, meaning try to tuck your chin down slightly so there is no strain of the neck. See more

07.01.2022 We are so lucky to be doing what we love and that is coaching and training. Micky and I are lucky to be "the-go-to-coaches" in the area when it comes to lifting correctly and working on the finer details. It is a pleasure to have friends fly inner state to train and make that extra effort. Here we have @roro.vee_underconstruction working on her squat. . . Stability at the bottom of her squat is a weak point in her lift and also the tracking of the bar. .... . Performing a box squat to stay tight is an effect way to create stability. . . To correct her movement patterns - slowing down the eccentric movement (the going down part), focusing on the unrack, knees out as she braces through the trunk is key. . . Most people need to learn these things to create a solid foundation. . . @roro.vee_underconstruction will progress as she's only her to spend a week or so and will learn so much to take away and practice for life. 03.01.2022 Watch yoself! Its amazing what mobility and flexibility will do to improve your performance, (not just in combat sport). Moving and feeling comfortable in different positions isnt tough to do when it makes you feel amazing. That supple feeling reminds you of how young you feel, just like when a baby learns to crawl then walk and falls on their bottoms, it doesnt hurt. But if you do fall do it graciously. Move freely.... 03.01.2022 Thought I'd put up some comparison photos of Eric Brandao's previous comp (photos on the left) vs his most recent comp (on the right). It's one thing to get somebody leaner but it's much better get them both leaner as well as actually feeling better and healthier each time they compete. He's approx 1 - 1.5% leaner in the photos on the right but also heavier & stronger than the pics on the left. Eric's lifts dont go down throughout his preps.... he continues to get strength ga...ins in the gym. Coaches will say that "it's normal" to get weaker while prepping (bullshit they're just flogging/starving their clients)... His libido/sexual functions continue to work for him as per norm... again coaches will tell you that "it's normal" to stop getting a boner (also bullshit, that's obviously a hormonal imbalance). Creating a caloric defecit is good and all but not at the expense of health, every time he competes he will get leaner as his metabolic rate and responses to foods continue to accelerate. Metabolic stimulation and balanced nutrition will always be king. Well done Eric, you make me proud every time we do assessments.
