22.01.2022 The whole 5G scare from the naysayer types is getting out of hand. This article by Dr Karl puts a bit of easy to understand perspective back into the subject.

22.01.2022 No one would disagree that Telstra needs to find new markets to grow however this feels like 'Groundhog Day'. How much has Telstra lost on China investments over the past 15 years? China is a very difficult place to do business and many have lost fortunes trying. Given all this and the current Huawei situation, surely Telstra management can identify better/other opportunities for growth. As a shareholder I am happy to be proven wrong! 21.01.2022 Another great visual summary......

21.01.2022 Is anyone else disappointed if not embarrassed by this? You can slice and dice the figures however you like however on balance for many customers (and especially those on FTTN) we have blown $50B on a 3rd rate network. And this from the country that once had the vision to invest in long term successful major infrastructure projects like the Snowy Mountains scheme.

20.01.2022 New year, new skill. Go on!

19.01.2022 Amazed at how people just plug their phone into a charging station or random USB port. What could possibly go wrong when they are desperate to get onto social media? #hack #hacking #mobilephone #chargingstation Shmoocon NSA.gov

19.01.2022 Understanding the NBN #3 - What is Fixed Wireless A Fixed Wireless connection utilises data transmitted over radio signals to connect premises to the #nbn. Data... travels from a transmission tower located as far as 14 kilometres away from your premises. Similar to a mobile network. Typically used in rural areas or small communities. Check out the video below and to discuss your NBN options please call your local NBN partner Peak Connect: www.peakconnect.com.au (02) 6324 5555 or send us a message on Facebook. 17.01.2022 I might have to pay! As a pure mobile play this is not compelling and as a Telstra customer I would argue that Telstra could do more to address major bugbears for higher end users, e.g. roaming policies and charges. However this makes sense as an NBN alternative especially when the FTTN technology they are planning to roll-out in our area is more than likely not going to work - most in our area had to move from ADSL to Optus HFC due to ongoing issues with the copper network outside our homes. It is expensive now however with competition hopefully pricing will fall into line with Fixed NBN pricing and be a viable alternative. Telstra NBN Australia #FTTP #unlimiteddata #internet

16.01.2022 Worth a look. Drone light shows are amazing if done well

15.01.2022 The decision by Vocus to prefer wireless over the NBN is a game changer. Wireless/mobile obviously offers enormous flexibility and with 5G data capacity will be greatly increased. However if the NBN had deployed fibre to the premise (fttp) in urban areas instead of a mix of compromised technologies, wireless would not have been able to compete in the medium to longer term. For those who will not be on fttp (like me), then wireless will offer greater flexibility and speed than the NBN. The only question now is price for fast wireless broadband and if service providers get that right, then the NBN may be shot. #nbn #fttp #vocus #internet #broadband #fixedwireless #5g #mobilebroadband

14.01.2022 Interesting article that simply explains the features, capabilities and limitations of the imminent 5G mobile networks.

13.01.2022 Great comparison of 3G v 4G v 5G

13.01.2022 It is interesting that as recently as this month Singtel confirmed that Ericsson remains their sole 5G mobile network supplier in Singapore. If Huawei is so good then why isn't Singtel using it in their network. Security maybe?

06.01.2022 Some you probably know and use, some you might not. Worth a quick look. https://hbr.org//10/10-excel-functions-everyone-should-know

06.01.2022 In short, a start-up raises capital but a small business doesn't. Is it this black and white?

05.01.2022 Don't neglect email marketing! ##edm #email #marketing #socialmedia

04.01.2022 Leadership is largely about taking responsibility and being accountable for what goes on under your watch. How then can the Chairman of Cricket Australia keep his job? Whilst Steve's Smith's degree of involvement in the ball tampering affair is debatable at least at Captain he had the guts to own the issue and be accountable. Unlike Sutherland, Peever and Howard.

04.01.2022 Seriously.....I am still trying to understand why people are rushing to install a listening device from Google (Android) or Apple in their house and now the good people at Facebook want to install a video camera in your home. All on the premise that it is great to play music or get a recipe from. It is OK to be 'connected' however this is getting ridiculous and a major security and privacy invasion.

03.01.2022 This is surprising and good news. Remember if the average age is 45 then many founders are probably much older. Never give up on your dream!

03.01.2022 We all understand the issue, however is our Federal Government prepared to better fund our Universities to allow them to reduce their dependence on International students for revenue and to strengthen their IT networks?
