24.01.2022 As of yesterday SA has 100 known or suspected cases of COVID19, The State Government has taken unprecedented action in response to the coronavirus pandemic requiring all people entering South Australia to isolate for 14-days from their arrival. This will apply immediately to South Australians, other Australians and other travellers, and will be supported by border control from Tuesday 24 March at 4pm. If you have an appointment at clinic and have returned from travel inters...tate please call us and we will reschedule it for you. We are taking every step necessary to halt community transmission risk and our clinic staff will work within the latest infection control guidelines and department of Health advice.

19.01.2022 Even an hour a week can ward off the effects of social isolation manifesting in Depression. Give us a call to enrol in a Physiotherapist led exercise class you can do in the comfort of your own home. We also know rehabilitation does not take a break when we are socially distancing and therefore Telemedicine consults with our Physios are now possible. Most Telehealth consults are now claimable via Medicare, Private Health insurance and Return to Work SA. Call us to enquire.... #Telehealth #Physiotherapy #Depression #StrongerTogether

17.01.2022 Often the process is more important than the actual result . Dysfunction and restriction doesn't just set in over night and to reverse the effects our environment has had on us takes time . I suck at a lot of movements and at times I get frustrated but then I know that one day if I'm committed and consistent I may upgrade my movement and perform it with ease and that's the 'aha' moment... . It's so empowering to feel that change happen, maybe it's something you hadn't been able to do before suddenly becomes accessible for you. Then you become more driven to succeed and achieve . But remember it is OK to suck at times, this isn't competitive work against anyone else, it's a habit for you and your body and your life. No one is there to judge but we as coaches are here to help you succeed and improve . Movement is always better than no movement . See more

14.01.2022 We understand in a public health crisis like this there is a need to self-isolate for some of our vulnerable clients. When this is the case please remember:

12.01.2022 One of the frequently asked questions is regarding the use of surgical masks. The department of Health advises us to prioritise surgical masks for those who are suffering from Covid19 and those in the primary health care network like Hospitals and GP’s who care for suspected Covid19 cases.

10.01.2022 Flare ups don’t undermine all the work you’ve done up until this point. They don’t change all the learning you’ve done until this point. If anything they give you added knowledge about yourself right now. ... Keep making moves!

07.01.2022 There are so many outdoor trails within a short drive from home that will help you keep your fitness goals on track.

07.01.2022 Do you wonder why Physiotherapists are essential services? Well, here’s what a Physiotherapy role can look like on the frontline. Right now most hospital sector PTs are getting ready for stage 3 in the Pandemic response and prepping for critical care duties.

06.01.2022 Yesterday the Federal Minister for Health made a clear statement of encouragement to the Physiotherapy profession during the Covid19 pandemic in Australia. He has indicated that they are now developing full telehealth options within the week for allied health along with all other health and medical services. This will be part of a staged plan. Face to face services for many remain vital so where possible, we encourage you to continue. I thank you for your courage, dedicat...ion and care, the Minister said. We will roll out Telehealth services for our existing clients who are in self-isolation during the crisis when Medicare codes for bulk billing are announced. Meanwhile, we believe we have a calling to stay open with extreme infection control screening and precautions in place. The last thing we want to see happen is a Chronic Pain sufferer relapse onto opioids or our disabled clients lose the opportunity to rehab back to life or for the emergency department get crowded by post-surgical clients needing rehab.

05.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE In line with new SA Health guidelines released today, all physiotherapy services at Strathalbyn Physiotherapy will be paused from tonight for the next six days. We will call all patients to reschedule their appointments. Please be patient with us as this will take some time. At this stage, we will reopen on Wednesday 25th November. We will update you prior to then as more information comes to hand. ... We sincerely thank you for your understanding and your incredible support over the decades. We know our physiotherapists provide an outstanding service and we look forward to helping our communities face to face again when it is safe to do so. Take care and stay safe #Strathalbyn #Fleurieu #covid19 #inthistogether

05.01.2022 Did you know: There are hidden Psychological Principles that govern human behaviour whether at work or working from home or daily chores. Parkinson’s Law states that the time to complete a task will expand to meet the time allotted for it. So, whether you give yourself or an employee a day or a week to produce a report, that’s how long it will take!... The law as stated in a 1955 essay for The Economist by British historian Cyril Northcote Parkinson states, Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion. In other words, if you give someone a week to complete a task, he or she will complete it in a week. If you give that person a month for the same task, it will take a month. Parkinson’s essay was intended to be humorous, but there is a truth to his premise. Humans tend to plan based on the time they have available to them. If you have a week to complete a task, you may schedule certain activities for Monday and some for Tuesday and plan a final review and revision for Friday before declaring your task completed. If you have a month, those tasks can be spaced out more broadly. And, if you only have a day, you can compress them into a tighter schedule. This is where the skills of Pacing are important when recovering from Pain and injuries. We’ve been working through the Pandemic to help people stay healthy, manage their pain with rehab, return to work fitter than before and achieve their goals.

03.01.2022 "The individual is like a garden to be tended, not a machine to be repaired." - Stephen Andrew (Clinical Psychologist)

01.01.2022 Everywhere you look, there may seem a sense of panic or fear, the mood is different and life has changed because of something we cannot even see. We are in control of only one part of the whole and it’s important we focus on the positive we can do for ourselves and people around us who are self-isolating. This is a time to let the best inside us shine. We will get thru this phase together.... Are you OK?
