25.01.2022 It’s The Little Things Yesterday, Sunday 8. 11. 2020, we did another of our back roads rides. You know, all by-ways, no highways, that kind of ride. But Wolf knew where to go, doesn’t he ALWAYS, and we all followed our esteemed leader. As we left, we found Phoenix kneeling in the middle of the road. It is understandable that you kneel when a Goldwing approaches, but in the middle of the road? Found out later she was filming us riding past her. OK, a bit of a disappointment, ...but I can live with that. And the video turned out very nice indeed. Thanks Phoenix. It got nicely warm whenever we stopped, but it was just lovely while riding; yes, my aircon needs to the motor to run. As we arrived in York, I recognised that it’s the little things that change a good ride into a great day. And rather than boring you with the details, I just gave the people who made it happen their nick names for the day: Early on there was Joan Hooter McNickle, then came Amin Hoon Samir and then Tony Fingers Cuenca. If you want to know more, come on the next ride and ask them. Nothing really earth-shattering happened, but without yesterday’s ride we all would be a lot poorer. Thanks Wolf, and everybody who was there. See you all asap. Werner See more

25.01.2022 Strayz Lunch Ride to Yerecoin Tavern, Sunday 15th November 2020. Started at Gingers Roadhouse, thru the Chittering Valley to Bindoon and onto Mogumber. Then thru New Norcia to Yerecoin (Lunch) and on to Toodyay. A great day, Fantastic Roads, Good Weather (Nice & Cool) and Excellent Company. Patched new member Paul Bonham, welcome aboard mate.

25.01.2022 The Dark Side There is no question that Wolf is a great ride leader and organiser. And we all like him a lot. But there is a dark side to him. I have seen it before and I have warned you about it. But would you listen? Naturally not. So, it was bound to happen again: This Sunday, the forecast was 25 % chance of rain of 1 to 4 mm. So what does Wolf do? He washed and polished his bike! And we all know what that means, don’t we. It means we will get wet. And so it was; on the ...way from Wellard to Ginger’s we got wet. WE GOT WET. And I blame Wolf for that. So today I made up my own voodoo. Picture 2 shows it. I will bring along a baggy of dirt and will sprinkle it over Wolf’s bike whenever rain is forecast. That will show him. If anyone wants his own baggy next time, I will have some for sale at about $89 each. Get them while stock lasts. The rest of the ride from Gingers went via the now brownish looking Chittering Valley to Bindoon and on to Mogumber; and all was nice and dry. And then we met out host at the Yerecoin Tavern: Have a look at the last picture: is he wearing underwear or an overall? Or a onesy he wore in the shed or.? Feel free to comment. Regardless, the meal and the coffee was very good as usual. But most importantly and above else, Purple Haze received his patch. Welcome to the mob, mate. Then on we went for the last jump to Toodyay. And jumping we did. Some potholes lifted my bum clear off my seat! And that on a Wing; flying sofa and all that jazz, remember. That road should be closed until Main Roads has filled in all the mine sites that stretch across it. I mean, potholes happen, but excavations several miles deep are just too much when you travel without ropes and abseiling gear. So, we have no option but to do it all again. cheers Werner See more

14.01.2022 Strayz Ride 13th September 2020. New Members Patched Up.

13.01.2022 Four Seasons in A Day Yep, one of those: sunshine, rain, icy winds, snow... Snow? Ok, maybe not snow. But after a great ride with Wolf and the Strayz, and after a hot shower I am still tired. I guess I am getting old. And I hate that! I really, really hate that. I think I need a Granny Nap to get positive enough to write a report. So, I either hook myself up to a battery charger or wait with that report 'till tomorrow. In the meantime; here are the photos of the today. I hope you like them.

12.01.2022 I hate my computer Here I am, on a sunny Monday afternoon, trying to remember what we did yesterday. Remembering it yesterday was difficult enough, but today? With my brain (or what I can still find of it) that is one big job. Let’s see how it goes before it is totally faded and I have to make something up. Yesterday evening, while the day was still fresh in my mind, I sat down and wrote all my memories on my computer. For the very last line and salutation I looked down on my... keyboard. What a mistake. When I looked up, my screen was blank! Nothing there. Nada. Nothing to recover or restore either. So I went to bed and cried myself to sleep. Then this morning I sat down again. Full of energy, but with memories that were already a bit dim and fading fast. Guess what happened. Yep, the same sh..t again! So I went into the garden and murdered a tree with the chainsaw. It did not help my report, but Dawn was pleased to see me working hard. And now I am saving e v e r y s i n g l e l i n e. I would like to write something about each and every one of our group, but to do that I would need to write while I am riding. Once I stop, my memories dim very fast. And by the time I have my first coffee, I have to ask for your name again. Sorry, but that’s me. So here is what I still remember: Jo came on her new Boulevard. It has a working fuel gauge according to her. Isn’t that something, Stevo. And that bike has at least one ton of chrome on it. Just beautiful. Looks like Jo likes bling as much as I do. However, the bikes looks very heavy. It might not be heavy but it looks it. Maybe a lightweight Goldwing would be easier to handle? Just sayin’. Nearly forgot: Our fearless leader Wolf arrived late at the servo on Thomas Road. This is unheard of and calls for severe punishment. How about a public flogging? It was a most sever transgression; he was a whole two minutes late! Two minutes! So, Wolf, consider yourself hereby publicly flogged. While everybody has occasionally a bee in his bonnet, one of us took it just that one step further by inviting one into his helmet. That was fun, wasn’t it Rob? At our lunch at the Yerecoin Tavern we really went to the dogs. Buster became officially a member and received his patch. And about time I say. But why on earth would Wolf give a patch Buster’s chauffeur? Doesn’t he know that Buster sees him as hired help who works for his food. My congratulations go to Joan, Greg and Robbie; it is a true pleasure to know you. The way home is always longer than expected, but at 5.01 pm, after 490 km, we rolled our Wing back into the garage. A bit weary and ready to do it all over again. See you next weekend. Werner See more

08.01.2022 Christmas is coming ..... and the Strayz are celebrating and socialising. We are also inviting all of our friendz to join us on Sunday 6 December. There will of course be a ride, a shorter than standard, yet the obligatory back roads (especially for you Betty) to a lovely lunch spot to prop for awhile. Strayz would love to see some Christmas Santa and elves; bling and tinsel; angels and stars; peace and joy; and plenty of ho, ho, ho. So any of our mates and your mates who would like an invitation to the ride just send us Strayz a message or a text to Wolf. If you prefer to drive in a cage-mobile with family, that’s ok too, we can meet you there.
