13.01.2022 Tonight we are lighting up Franklin Square + our Farmy HQ in red to throw our support behind We Make Events Australia which is on Red Alert to raise awareness of Australia's highly skilled event professionals who have no work, in what has become an industry decimated by Covid. This industry that we are so lucky to work in includes a huge supply chain ranging from production, audio, lighting and video, to logistics, planning, transportation, as well as leading technology ...manufacturers who have had no work since mid-March and are unlikely to restart again until well into mid 2021. Without additional support for the supply chain, Australia is in danger of losing its global position as a leader in world-class events. Moreover, all of our incredible creatives and technicians could lose their livelihoods for good. We at Peattie Events have been very fortunate to be able to at least operate Farm Gate Market in some capacity during Covid, and are currently working on a Covid-safe @streeteatsfranko however, this is not the case for most of our industry. In light of this #WeMakeEventsAus are calling for meaningful support from the Government until the industry is allowed to operate in a way that is not limited by social distancing policies. See more

08.01.2022 The ‘How-To’ for Franko #5 Launching Friday 27 November 2020. It’s a big gig implementing a Covid-Safe Event plan. It means loads more infrastructure and loads more people power (our team has grown from 5 to 30). Because of this there are a number of changes to Franko so that we can comply with Public Health directives and power this baby up, but power it up safely.... Franko is now a pre-booked, ticketed event with a range of sittings that you can select from when you book. There are no gate sales and so your ticket guarantees you entry into the event. Tickets cost $5.50+BF with kids U16 free. 06.01.2022 It is with sadness that we inform you that Street Eats @ Franko will be closed indefinitely in line with the Federal Governments ban on static mass gatherings of over 500 people. Given that there are only 6 more events until the end of our season, it is likely that the event at Franklin Square will not recommence until December 2020 when season #5 opens. We realise that the coronavirus has, and will continue to, impact the livelihood of many in the events, hospitality and... entertainment industry but we are a strong + creative mob, and as such we know that we will come back bigger, better and stronger once these challenging times have passed. In the meantime, we are prepping + planning a number of off-peak events so watch this space.... 05.01.2022 Last Sunday we farewelled a much loved part of Peattie Events - Food Curator Maddy Delany (pictured on the left with myself and Jo, our Ops Coordinator). And it's in this post we pay homage to a legendary team member. Maddy D, as she was fondly known, was not only the person responsible for curating the menus and Producers across our 3 event platforms, she was the Master Wordsmith behind our marketing content, and the legend behind the camera, responsible for bringing Far...my + Franko to you across social media. Each task undertaken with a passion, a dedication and an excellence that would be the envy of many employers. More than that, she was an awesome human being to work with (and a bloody good laugh) and will be sorely missed by us. Mad has taken the opportunity with the slowing down of the world that only a pandemic can produce, to study Creative Writing at Curtin University and will eventually head West when the time is right. I am sure that you will join us in wishing both Maddy D, and Alex her partner, all the best in the next chapter of their lives See more

04.01.2022 What's the $5.50 entry fee for? This is a very common question asked of us and, communicating the rationale behind it to people who do not understand the complexities (and costs) associated with operating a highly regulated, Covid-Safe mass gathering is a difficult task. And we get it, unless you are knee deep in it as we are, it is difficult to understand.... So perhaps yesterday's experience at Franko will go a long way in explaining the entry fee. The entry fee allowed us to build a new website that facilitated an online ticketing system so that we could capture the contact details of EVERY person that plans to enter Franko. At 12.00pm yesterday, the State Government closed our borders to 5 LGA's in QLD deeming them high risk given the UK strain of Covid-19 identified in the community. The entry fee then paid for one of our team members to work through our ticketing database and contact the approximate 50 residents from those suburbs who had booked tickets for the night to Franko, to determine if they were able to attend. Some already knew, some were unaware that they should be in isolation effective immediately. A minority thought that they would come anyway. We advised them otherwise. The entry fee then paid for 10 gate staff to vet the origin of customers who came to purchase tickets at the gate. We turned away 3 groups who were unaware of the latest updates and informed them they should be in isolation and they needed to call the Public Health Hotline immediately. The entry fee pays for the masks our team wear when we are interfacing with these patrons, the phones we use to capture visitor numbers and scan tickets, the radios we use to communicate across gates and it pays for the gallons of hand sanitiser that we, and our customers use adhering strictly to Covid-Safe hygiene principles. In a nutshell, the entry fee keeps us all safe. A hugeshout must go out to our awesome team yesterday for their hard work and diligence
