25.01.2022 ".... Remember where you started..." Was posted to my wall with the first picture over the weekend. I figured it was a perfect opportunity to do a comparison shot It's very easy to forget where it all began, especially when you don't take photos all the time. I'm one of those people haha For me personally, getting into fitness was about improving my strength for day to day life. ... In the first picture, I was 21, tired and winging nutrition. I've fallen off the wagon, been injured, had accidents and lost loved ones.. Like everyone, it hasn't been an easy ride. People don't see behind the scenes. They just assume PTs are supposed to be perfect On the right, this morning/26, I'm full of life and plant based. No -body- is perfect, no -body- is the same. Celebrate the process and progress. 22.01.2022 Witness the Fitness It's been roughly a year since my back injury put a stop on my Training. What a journey and a half! Who knew aggravating a childhood injury could affect so many things! Thankfully, I had a Rehab plan in place Everyone sees the end result but not the ice packs, adjustments, stretch routines and gradual increase to training load. I can't believe I was confined to a Treadmill for three weeks! Yet, here I am! Back to leg pressing 200kg worth of plat...es Everyone has their own journey to follow. 16.01.2022 Decided to hang out in Arnie's underarm today for some flexibility work! This was actually one of my favourite yoga moves Keeping in mind my L4/L5 injury, I've had to work this movement around a bit differently to the normal way I'd do it (I'm a lot more aware of my stabilisers than others). My ham strings are quite tight, that's why with every rep I'm poking my toes towards my head (it allows for a greater stretch). ... #Gym #Stretching #Yoga #Flexibility #Stability

13.01.2022 Numbers are not everything These days people have become so obsessed with numbers! Guess what? They change! A number doesn't define whether you can climb stairs without the extra puffing, can jump higher or if you've met that new PB. Yes they can guide you on number specific goals, but they ARE NOT EVERYTHING*.... Focus on how you feel and how you move. Don't let a numeral digit get you down. You should celebrate your journey, not rain on it. Here's a segment of my personal Evolt Scan. I'm at my highest body fat percentage since I started these scans in 2017 (I usually sit 18-20% these days). Body fat represents itself differently in everyone. I'm feeling my strongest (despite my injury), I'm feeling beyond great and I'm mentally stoked. I look forward to my Training days but cherish my Rest too. Last month I was 47kg and I was STRESSED. Now my muscle % is up, my protein, water etc is on point and my "Bio Age" is less than my real one (24, I'm 26). ***Please Note*** This is an example. My goal isn't fat loss, it's maintaining weight and gaining + rehab. If yours -is- and you're looking for guidance, please feel free to ask away. 06.01.2022 I had an unexpected but more than welcome visitor today I've been training Marcia for well over a year and a half but have never met the famous "Ron". They've been together for over 25 years! What an inspiration! (Marcia trains with me twice a week. She has a metal shoulder, has had two knee reconstructions and has osteoarthritis in her left ankle. Despite this, she's also a volunteer for Anglicare and a Carer for her husband who is an amazing 92 this year!)... If you're ever in Five Star Smithfield, come say "Hey" to Marcia. 03.01.2022 Hot Topic: Motivation You can't buy it. Contrary to popular belief, "Liquid Motivation" (Pre-workouts etc) will only help you focus and push that bit further if you have the desire in place before hand to work hard to achieve want you want. People become so relient on supplements that they believe they can't achieve the best results without them. So I guess that means if the product is discontinued the motivation stops too? Imagine that. No. People find another way. ... -Define Your Goals -Make them attainable -Break them down into Small Targets so it doesn't overwhelm What fuels me personally (and my Clients) is seeing results and knowing that the choices I make daily are leading to that golden thing. People become so fixated on perfection when they should be praising their self improvement and hitting those smaller targets. Ideas for Small Targets -Meal Prep (You'll save money and know that every time you pull a container from the fridge, you're a step closer to reaching your goal) -Program (If you haven't already, workout a Training Plan to match your goals and STICK TO IT.
