24.01.2022 As a country we are becoming more sedentary and thats not good news. As a result, the rate of obesity is growing at an alarming rate in Australia not just for adults but children as well. Obesity increases the risk of developing other chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia and other heart diseases. With the Public Health system & Government Funding limited in helping combat obesity, energy should be redirected into more preventative measures... such as exercise! Exercise helps boost the bodys metabolism, allowing us to burn more fat during and post exercise. Some exercises may be more effective than others but this really depends on an individuals current physical capacity. Get in touch with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to learn more about the benefits of exercise and the specific types of exercise useful for you. See more

22.01.2022 DIABETES AWARENESS! The follow article has been posted to help educate the importance of regular exercise for all ages and more importantly those suffering chronic conditions such as Diabetes. As seen in the title, it can take as quickly as 2 weeks of inactivity in seniors to increase their blood sugar levels. Interestingly though, the article highlights that simply exercising for 2 weeks following 2 weeks of inactivity will not fully reverse or cancel out the negative effec...ts associated with 2 weeks of inactivity. Exercise can be as little as a 20-30 minute walk each day to help prevent the rise in blood sugar levels and start reversing it. If youd like more information please contact Strength and Rehab, we are here to help!
