07.01.2022 Hello everyone, I'll keep this short and to the point. After careful consideration of the most current medical advice, we have decided to begin transitioning the tutoring service to an online model. I hope you can appreciate this is not my preferred way of delivering the service, however, I want to prioritise the health of the students, the tutors and the families they are in close contact with. To help us with this transition, we will be making the first online session your ...student has half price. This will give us time to fix any individual issues with the lessons. I'll try to cover the most common questions below: When will this change be made? We are rolling out this change over the next 2 weeks. The priority is firstly for any tutors or students who are immunocompromised or live with an at-risk family member. To clarify, this is to prevent the spread to those who would be most affected by the disease. Will this change be permanent? No - This is a temporary measure which we expect will last a maximum of 6 months. Will my child still have the same tutor? Aside from specific circumstances, the tutor your child currently works with will remain their tutor going forward. What technology is necessary for online sessions? As long as you have an internet connection and phone/laptop, online sessions are possible. We are currently purchasing licenses for 'Zoom' which allow students to join via a link that can be sent as a text or email. We expect there will be some technical issues in the beginning, but as everyone becomes more familiar with the technology, the process should become smoother. What capabilities do the online sessions have? The program will allow face to face sessions, as well as screen-sharing and an interactive whiteboard for math-based tutoring. If desired, sessions can be recorded and saved. Will sessions be affected if a student is in quarantine, or Australia is in lock-down? No - even in the worst-case scenario, online sessions will continue to ensure your child will still be receiving an education What happens if schools close? It is unfortunate, but the reality at this stage is that it is likely that schools will be closing sooner rather than later. If this occurs, we will begin hosting online supplementary classrooms for students on a subscription basis. This service will be capped at $20 p/week to cover costs and will be used as a way to help maintain education for students during this global pandemic. More on this will be released as the situation changes. 02.01.2022 School is coming around the corner quickly and in 2020 we're even more committed to improving the mental health of students. How are we doing this? 1. Starting in term 1, we will also be servicing Brisbane... 2. We'll be officially starting 'Project 1 million' where we aim to have a long term goal of improving the education/life balance of 1 million students over our lifetime. Starting this year, we will be interviewing our students before and after they work with us to measure how much impact a mindset change can have on a student's mental health.
