25.01.2022 WATER SAFETY WEEK 20 seconds is all it takes for a child to drown. Supervision is constant visual contact with your child. Make sure you are in a position to respond quickly by keeping children under 5 years within arms’ reach and children under 10 years always be in sight. Supervision is not an occasional glance while you read or undertake household chores, and it is not looking outside at your kids playing while you are inside.... Supervision Tip: Minimise any temptation to leave a child unsupervised near water by having everything ready before bathing your child or going for a swim (i.e. towels, sunscreen, dry clothes, phone etc.) Learn more here: https://lsv.com.au/ To celebrate Water Safety Week Life Saving Victoria has a colouring competition available to all students. Teachers have these available for students who are interested.
