14.01.2022 Merry Christmas

14.01.2022 COVID NOTICE Yesterday morning, Sunday 20th December, I made the decision to put our Facility into lockdown and ceased visiting due to the concerning number of Community acquired Covid cases and the incidences of potential contact within our community. The decision was confirmed last night when NSW Health issued a directive instructing all facilities in NSW to enter into lockdown and staff are directed to wear masks. This arrangement will be in place until 12 midnight on We...dnesday 23rd December. This means residents should not leave facility in that time. We cannot strictly enforce this, however if anyone leaves the facility for a social reason, they will need to be isolated in their room for 14 days following return. I have been in a meeting with NSW Health this afternoon and they have advised that this situation will be reviewed on Wednesday and the outcome will depend on the number of cases detected in the meantime. The restrictions on visiting may well be lifted and it is always possible that residents may even be able to go out on Christmas. I feel it is only fair however to advise that you may need to be prepared for the fact that visits or outings may not be permitted or advised. Visitors from the Sydney or Central coast area will not be permitted. Even if outings on Christmas day are permitted , we would ask that they only occur with a small family group and that no physical contact takes place. Please consider your plans carefully and take into account the risk you may be placing on your loved one and the other residents. I am well aware of the importance of this time together as a family and it is very difficult for us to ask this of you after the year we have had. Please be assured that every effort will be made to ensure your loved one will have a lovely Christmas dinner and the staff will go to extra effort to make sure they have an enjoyable day. Phone calls or video calls will be encouraged. I will update everyone on any changes to directions as soon as possible Please advise all family members and anyone likely to wish to visit of these restrictions. Once again, I am very sorry to be the bearer of this news, but our ultimate goal is to keep your loved ones safe. Please be assured the residents are all happy and occupied and are probably coping with this situation better than you are! Please do not hesitate to call if you have any queries. 13.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE LOVE FROM STROUD COMMUNITY LODGE RESIDENTS AND STAFF

12.01.2022 Happy New Year from everyone at Stroud Community Lodge & Stroud Community Services. As 2020 ends and 2021 rolls in we want to thank to all the healthcare workers on the front line who are caring for our residents. Because of the work we do, an increasing number of older Australians are able to age well in their own homes. Other seniors are given the chance to live their lives in a nurturing community with the level of support they need, either in Self Care Units or Resident...ial Aged Care Homes. Aged care workers are some of the most passionate and hard-working people in the wider health system. They are doing fabulous and heroic work on the frontline of the most challenging period in our lifetimes in the face of a once-in-a-century emergency. We have all missed family and friends, birthday celebrations, milestones, holidays, dining out and many other events, which we now realise we took for granted but it has ultimately contributed to improving the lives of our older Australians. To our Managers, Nurses and carers Thank you To our Cooks, cleaners, and laundry staff -Thank you To our Drivers and maintenance workers - Thankyou To our Chaplains and pastoral carers - Thankyou To our Admin and reception workers Thankyou To our Volunteers - Thankyou
