10.01.2022 We connected with our history recently as a photo of Mr Morris Henry Ingram was installed outside Ingram Ward by General Manager Katrina Ryan and Mr Ingram’s daughter Michele. Mr Ingram was Chairman of the Board at St Stephen’s for a number of years when it was situated in Maryborough. Little is known about Mr Ingram’s time at the hospital and he died when Michele was only 16 years old, but his legacy remained strong enough for the hospital ward to be named after him. If you know more about this story, send us a direct message. #SSH

04.01.2022 Today is the 13th anniversary of the #NationalApology to Australia’s Indigenous Peoples, which included an apology to the Stolen Generations. Today is a day to remember and reflect on past wrongdoings, to acknowledge their spiritual and intergenerational impact and to make a meaningful commitment to strengthen healing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through truth and justice. #SAWMH #HealingOurPastBuildingOurFuture #AlwaysWillBe #ReflectListenLearn

03.01.2022 Daily life can be busy and stressful. But did you know that you can calm that pressure simply by taking a moment to stop and focus on the present? During #MentalHealthWeek why not take time for yourself and try deep breathing, listening to a guided meditation or yoga #SSH #QMHWTakeTime

01.01.2022 We celebrated our volunteers and consumer advisory committee for their hard work and contributions to our mission this year. A poem written by volunteer story teller Margaret was shared at the lunch. Margaret comes to the hospital every Tuesday afternoon and reads her stories to our patients. Those experiencing long stays eagerly look forward to her stories, waiting with bated breath for her next visit! During COVID restrictions she spent much of her time writing up a storm, so has many new stories to share. #StStephensHospital
