25.01.2022 Some special visitors arrived at kindergarten today. The children will enjoy watching them hatch, grow and change over the next two weeks. The children are learning about life cycles and changes in the natural environment.

25.01.2022 Thank you to the awesome Kindy and Dalby Daycare parents who helped to unload and sort mango cases today. Your help is very much appreciated Special thanks to Helen Ruddy for organising the mango fundraiser.

24.01.2022 The children helped to make a new batch of play dough today. Then they enjoyed pizza making role play with the new dough. Recently we made our own pizzas and had a real pizza picnic for lunch.

21.01.2022 It was so wonderful to have most of our kindy children in the Monday, Tuesday group back with us this week. Tomorrow we look forward to welcoming back the children in the Thursday/Friday group.

20.01.2022 This week we celebrated the impressive length of service for our wonderful staff at kindergarten. We shared a cake, with both kindergarten groups, to recognise the staff. Thanks to the committee members for acknowledging our staff by presenting us with service awards and providing the yummy cakes. Stuart Street Kindergarten is an awesome place to work and play. #ifyoudowhatyouloveyoullneverworkadayinyourlife

16.01.2022 Mangoes are ready for collection!!

15.01.2022 We conducted a fun, science experiment with milk, food colouring and dish washing liquid today. There was a lot of excitement as the children observed the reaction of the colouring, as it swirled away from the dish washing liquid. For those families looking for learning activities at home, here is the link to this experiment and a video to see how it's done. https://www.learning4kids.net//colour-changing-milk-exper/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqQSlEViNpk

15.01.2022 Free ‘Rhythm and Movement for self-regulation’ class from Dr Kate Williams (20 minutes). Available to go on repeat for a morning warm up or just for a fun activity at home.

13.01.2022 Last week, at kindy, the children enjoyed the 'marbling, paint activity with shaving cream', which was one of the links shared as a suggested home activity. If you haven't tried this one at home, give it a go. It was lots of messy, sensory fun and we created some really lovely marbled prints. After the children had created their print, we let them play with the coloured shaving cream at the table. This activity was first introduced to us by the very talented Sonia Miers. Sonia also shared some photos of her two children doing this activity at home last week. Here is the link to the activity again... https://www.tate.org.uk//paint-draw/make-marbled-paper-foam

13.01.2022 ‘Timehop’ back to one of our favourite gardening activities in Term 4 this year... our strawberry and cherry tomato harvest.

10.01.2022 At 11 am today the children and staff at kindy, paused to remember all those who fought and died in the line of duty. I thought of you today as the morning sun came over the rise I thought of you today as I pinned my poppy to my blouse I thought of you today as the bugle rang throughout... I thought of you today as the world continued about I thought about you today, just as I do every other day and silently thank you for reminding me of how lucky I am because of the sacrafices you made. ~ Lest we forget .

09.01.2022 Mailing a Hug! Here’s a lovely idea you might like to try over the next few weeks to keep in touch with a friend or family member. First you will need a large piece of paper (you can sticky tape a few together if needed) and a grown up or older sibling will need to trace around your child’s outstretched arms and head. You can add a face and decorate with paints, crayons or pens. Once dry, fold and mail to whoever you’d like! There’s a lovely verse you may even like to ad...d I miss you when you’re far away I’d love to see you everyday But since I can’t come over to play I’m mailing you a hug today! So although it may be quite a sight Wrap my arms around you tight! Repeat daily to keep your smile bright Until we get to reunite! Your friends and relatives you haven't seen from for a while will get the most wonderful surprise when they receive a hug from you in the mail! See more

06.01.2022 Tracy reads Australia classic: "Possum Magic." At the end she poses some play ideas you might like to explore with your child: "What would it be like to be invi...sible?" "What would your family like to eat on their birthday?" We'd love to hear what your children think! Post your ideas below. See more

06.01.2022 With so much pride and a tinge of sadness, we said goodbye to all of our kindergarten children this week, with two very special graduation celebrations. For some families in our kindy community, it was the youngest child graduating. This is a very special moment for us all. We have loved learning and playing with each and every child. We look forward to seeing some of our big preppies next year, as they return to pick up their younger siblings from kindergarten. We are also very excited that some of our kindergarten children are returning in 2021. Have a very safe and happy Christmas and New Year with your family and friends. See you soon. #MyLastDay #LoveCandK

04.01.2022 Thanks to Sarah, who is one of our talented kindy Mums, for allowing us to share her wonderful scavenger hunt activity.

02.01.2022 Today the children harvested some of the coriander and basil, which have grown since we planted them, earlier this year. Parents are invited to take some basil and coriander home, to use in their cooking. Last term we made 'Basil Pesto' at kindy, using some of our own herbs. Today we also found some strawberries in the garden and we collected some worm juice, from the worm farm, to pour onto the vegetable seedlings.

01.01.2022 Some more photos of our kindy children enjoying the activities in their home packs. Keep on sharing photos and thanks to those families who have been sending in photos.

01.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day

01.01.2022 Elsie created a hug at kindy by allowing us to trace around her head and outstretched arms. She painted inside her outline and took it home. At kindy, Elsie told us that she would like to mail her hug to her great grandmother. Elsie and her Mum added a poem and a note to her hug, and they mailed it to her great grandmother. Last week Elsie's great grandmother was happily surprised to receive her hug from Elsie in the mail. She has pinned it to the wall in her kitchen. I miss... you when you’re far away I’d love to see you everyday But since I can’t come over to play I’m mailing you a hug today! So although it may be quite a sight Wrap my arms around you tight! Repeat daily to keep your smile bright Until we get to reunite! Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines - Exploring literacy in personally meaningful ways. See more
