With a large and a small joint, pieces can be produced and assembled easily in either solid timber, laminates or veneers. Due to the size of the joint, the products can be assembled without glue or fixings. Almost like @lego (please don’t sue me!)

01.01.2022 Morty Mortisé collection for the @doweljones Design From Home competition earlier this year. Rather than creating a single object, I designed a standardised system based on the oversized work of American sculptor Claes Oldenburg and a mortis and tennon joint. By enlarging the joint to a comic proportion, the mortis and tennon is used as both a joint and a feature that can be applied to a variety of products that can be endlessly customised. #industrialdesign #productdesign #furniture #furnituredesign #doweljones
