25.01.2022 I had some resin left over from a commission yesterday so I put it over this sweet 35x20cm mini platter. Came up pretty good I think. Notice the difference in wood colour from light to darker when it is oiled on the stem part. A little bit of bleeding but that happens occasionally with some woods. Easily fixed with a bit of light sanding then oiled

24.01.2022 Charcuterie boards are perfect for your entertaining needs. Glorious big boards are just the thing for piling cold meats and fruits and cheeses. These are 100% food safe resin, perfect for hot food also. Glorious big 56cm x 45cm round oak, and rectangular 59cm x 29cm oak, not including handle length, are just two here. See them and more at the next PHAM market on Oct 25 at Mundaring Arena. Orders also taken.

19.01.2022 NOT the best day for photographing resin I had to hold this one on a bit of a downward angle what you can't see is the swirls of the sparkling ocean bubbling up between the various colours. These slate coasters were perfect for putting resin on. Keeping this one but I'll have more at the next market

15.01.2022 Commissioned huge 65cm lazy susan finished yesterday. I love making the oceans look real with resin like a painting. Hope she loves it as much as I do. Note to self...the resin is shiny, be aware of what is behind it when taking photos

15.01.2022 Big 56cm Lazy Susan. The brief was make it look reminiscent of a fire, and I was given a pic of a previous one done only smaller, a lot smaller . I so wasn't happy with it last night, it didn't look red enough. BUT today in the light I could be happier I purposely didn't mix the red properly to give it that *embers look, and it worked I hope they like it now

04.01.2022 This is a bit long but I hope you find it interesting. I've had no formal training in anything I do except the Powertex to become a certified trainer up here, I'm 99% self taught. I watched my mum and learned from her from a very young age, she had natural talent. My mum's side of the family was very talented and intellectual. My nana, born in 1901 wanted to be a pilot. One of my great, great grandfather's...not sure how far back lol...did the gold filigree on royal coaches i...n England, my grandfather was a carpenter, bronzecaster, signwriter, he was ambidextrous so that's where I get it from, and did the Moonta town clock for years until he passed, he played the spoons and saw too . My mum was a hugely naturally talented woman. She did dancing from her teens, sewed, she sewed costumes for my eldest sister, and sewed the velvet stage curtains in the old Adelaide theatre still hanging, covered with sequins, the costumes not the curtains , knitted, tatted, china painted, charcoal drawings, pastels, and was the most amazing drawer. In 1976 at 50, 1 year before she passed, she decided to learn oil painting, her first lessons in art, a couple were sold late '77. These are very early ones, and are 3 of the 4 I have. The first is her second lesson in April, 1976, she was finishing off the last and had started one of the Flinders Ranges when she passed just before my 15th birthday I have still packed away. She did art like me, because it's who we are. I adore them and always have her with me now. Just felt like sharing them with you all. See more
