06.01.2022 What you wear has an impact on your mood. I am being very mindful of what I choose to wear each day - as I am struggling with anxiety and a low mood, its the isolating at home and constant updates of Covid-19 infections and deaths. I find it hard to remain positive at times and to be honest there are days Id rather not get out of bed at all. ... So, I choose carefully what I wear - I know certain colours will help me feel calm or feel energised. I am very conscious of textures- I will put on something that the fabric feels divine against my skin or makes a cute swish sound when I walk. I have gone back to revisit my Style Guide and ensuring I wear all the clothes categorised as GREAT for me, and shopping in my wardrobes for those items I havent worn in a while. Why - because this is all a part of my self-care. If I look put together well, I begin to feel put together. When you look good you feel better. Its not frivolous or vain, its about equipping yourself to be the best version of yourself in this dark time we are all living through. 05.01.2022 When you look in the mirror what is it that you feel? I would look at my reflection and feel let down/ disappointed/unhappy/dissatisfied and at times embarrassed. When I was 4 years old twirling around in my fairy wings imagining I was a fairy princess, when I looked in the mirror I felt happy. ... When did I start to feel I didnt measure up? I have struggled with self worth and body image issues from 17. Thats why clothes have been like therapy as Ive found that they can give me confidence, and stop me feeling so self conscious. I regret that it took me until I reached 40 before I began to feel better about my self, and my 50s to live life my way. When I unlocked my bodys dimensions and began to choose the styles of clothes that worked with me -I felt like I had a new lease on life, an inner confidence that I was presenting my best and most authentic self to the world.
