25.01.2022 The final of Suburban ladies Championsip Singles was played today. Rhonda Tawse defeated Pam Spiers 26-12.
25.01.2022 Suburban Bowling Club is hosting the Dunn Cup this year. Bowls commenced this morning and will conclude with the final on Monday. Sixteen teams from the North Queensland District are playing. Outstanding bowling has been seen so far today.
25.01.2022 Suburban Men’s Triples were decided this morning. Vinnie Morgan, David Allison and Joe Farrell defeated David Whiting, Ross Austen and Ron Jepson 23-14 in a hard fought match. Congratulations to all players.
24.01.2022 Championship Fours were decided today. Pam Spiers, Shirley Lollo, Diana Hart and Donna Ware defeated Chris Robinson, Pam Nolan, Carol Henderson and Betty Wroe. The score was 18-14. The jubilant crowd looked on from the sidelines and were spellbound at times.
22.01.2022 Suburban ladies completed the graded pairs competition this morning. Chris Robinson and Kim McDonald defeated Wanda Goodwin and Esther Ross. Congratulations to all ladies in a good game played.

20.01.2022 Men’s B Pairs, or should I say battle of the bowling arms was decided today. David Allison and Kevin Henderson defeated Ross Austen and Ron Jepson. It was 18 all after 21 ends resulting in an extra end being played and the final score was 20-18.
19.01.2022 Men’s Veteran Singles final was decided today. Jeff Brease defeated David Whiting 26-18
18.01.2022 The final of the mixed pairs was decided this morning. David Goode and Christine Robinson defeated David and Robyn Whiting.
16.01.2022 NQDLBA conducted the final day’s play of the Blue Pennants at Suburban Bowling green today. Suburban, Thuringowa, South Townsville and Wangaratta bowls clubs competed in the 2020 Blue Pennant competition. Wangaratta were the Blue Pennant winner with South Townsville runner-up. The Wilma Berryman trophy was won by Linda Smith’s team from Wangaratta. Everyone had a good time and a lot of bowls were bowled over the three days of competition. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all of the competitors.

12.01.2022 Suburban ladies have commenced social bowls on Tuesday afternoons commencing at 1:00 pm. Many ladies have returned to bowls post COVID and enjoying their day out. We have welcomed our new bowler Jean Charles. A welcome visitor was Dawn McGahan now bowling at Yungaburra. Dawn was spotted buying up big in the bowls shop. Pam Spiers was presented with her Veterans badge which was overdue because of the COVID situation.

03.01.2022 NQDLBA conducted the Champion of Champions play offs at Suburban Bowls Club yesterday. Kay Cooper, Carol Meredith, Kate Leverton, Carmen Cobb, Gwen Thomas and Lyn Harasmyuik represented their clubs. Great bowling was witnessed by the small band of spectators. The final was played between Carmen Cobb and Kate Leverton. Carmen was victorious, winning 25-12. Congratulations Carmen.
02.01.2022 Suburban ladies had a farewell cake cutting ceremony yesterday to say good bye to Sharon McConochie. Sharon and her husband, Stan are re-locating to Rockhampton. Thank you Sharon for being our Games Director for the last few years. We will miss you. Good luck for the future
01.01.2022 At Suburban Ladies Christmas break up day we opted out of secret Santa gifts and instead decided to donate to the local Women’s Shelter. As advised by the Shelter we purchased gift cards with the donations, at local businesses. Today Wanda and Robyn visited the Shelter and made a presentation to the Women’s Shelter. They were very appreciative of our gift .
