25.01.2022 Saturdays results below, numbers down due to weather and holidays, Congratulations to Chad Taylor and Steve Kiss for combining immaculately in the 4BBB stableford. Each only scored 33pts individually but amassed 46pts in the best ball.

24.01.2022 LADIES 9 HOLE SOCIAL COMP The Infigen Energy Ladies 9 Hole Competition is looking for more players. It’s a 9 hole social comp, playing with someone in the comp or a golf club member, anytime from Thursday to Sunday during daylight saving, alternating between the front nine and back nine each week. Handicaps will be allocated initially, and changed based on your previous week’s results. There must be 4 or more players for a competition round and winner, but all w...eekly scores will be recorded towards the Best 7 Rounds at the end of the competition. All prizes are awarded at presentation. Cost: $15 green fees each week for non-members, $11 for members. $40 competition fee, also covers presentation. Many thanks to Infigen Energy for their sponsorship of this event. So come on girls, dust off the clubs, phone a friend and organise a friendly game. 22.01.2022 Updated Wellington Soldiers Memorial Pointscore for 2020 with Malcolm Payne moving to the top from David Naveau and only 2 more rounds to go

22.01.2022 Captain Vs Presidents with an Individual Stableford held yesterday with the Captains side coming out on top with an average player score of 32.8 pts vs the Presidents average player score of 31.9 pts. Although the President & Vice President played strongly to take the cash off the Captain and Vice Captain in their friendly matchup. Prizes kindly supplied by Mr Elton Keeffe who unfortunately was away. Winner on the day with 37 pts was Garry McCarroll followed closely by Kurt Cusack with 36pts on a countback.

21.01.2022 Wellington Golf Club Par 3 Championships played today in glorious weather thanks to Rod and Allison of Wellington Mowers & Chainsaws with 60 players enjoying the conditions. Congratulations Kurt Cusack winning the Scratch with 84, B Grade went to Rod McMahon on a sudden death play-off against Wayne Lang who both were tied on 92, Peter "Bear" Cornish collected the c Grade with a fantastic 94 and Denise Haesler 102 edging out Kathy Martin 103. 18.01.2022 39 Starters for the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club monthly medal. With Matt Reid taking out the A grade medal and new member Mav Sutherland the B grade medal, well done. Cheryl Royal won the Russell Gersbach sponsored ladies prize on medal days. Elton Keeffe lucked in with a well deserved eagle on the 7th. Only a few weeks to go before the Cusacks Butchery mens foursomes championships will be held so grab a mate to enter (while your still friends cause this event will test your friendship Haha haha)

17.01.2022 Wonderful August weather yesterday with Sun, Wind, Rain but no Snow. Nice to see the boys from Orange have a game. Winners for the days 4 Ball Multiplier event thanks to Jans Happy feet was Robert Baker and his partner Doug Ney on a well combined 74 pts. next week is the Captains Vs President with All starters off the 1st Tee as major coring renovations to the greens will commence Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Please if members could avail themselves to assist the Greens staff on Sunday to get completed. Note the Golf Course will be closed to all from 1pm Saturday and all day Sunday due to the work required.

14.01.2022 A 4BBB par event attracted a terrific field of 69 players which included a number of visiting players from neighboring clubs participating. The days overall trophy donated by Ash & Josh Bullock went to Trent Forrest & Rod McMahon with a great +9 and to Marg Hollow & Kathy Martin on +6 wed like to thank Denise Haesler of D & J Rural for awarding a trophy for the best female scores. We also welcome Cody Hannelly and Cory Sutherland playing in their 1st official competition along with a number or new members joining the club in the past few weeks which is good to see.

But good to see the others staying on in the clubhouse enjoying the beer. 08.01.2022 A glorious winters day saw 50 starters for an individual Par event with Neil Hollow happily edging out Normy Royal for the prize. Next week cart usage will be allowing 2 people to a cart, Please can all cart users keep their distance away from the greens, the grass isnt growing and areas of cart traffic is becoming more evident round the front sides of the greens. If there are members that havent been able to login to MIClub for bookings and to see the full results of competitions please raise your hand and advise club or captain for assistance.

08.01.2022 Rd 3 of the Wellington Plant Hire Trophy contested yesterday with 56 players enjoying great weather and company on our fantastic golf course. A 4 Ball aggerate was the days event sponsored by Jimmy & Reid Armstrong, thanks fellas. Kurt Cusack & Lewis Stanley took out the day with a good score of 75 pts from Normy Royal & John Donnelly 70 pts. A big shout out to Doug Ney and his merry band of volunteers who cleaned up some of the dead trees causing safety concerns through the week. Well done and very much appreciated.

06.01.2022 On Wednesday I had the pleasure of playing with the lovely Heather Pieper - a true golfing inspiration. As we teed off on the 18th, she mentioned this would be her last tee shot at 95, so I took some pics to mark the occasion. Today Heather celebrates her 96th Birthday. Happy Birthday Heather, and on behalf of the ladies and the club, I’d like to wish you a beautiful day! Keep showing us how it’s done! Janelle

04.01.2022 After scrutinizing over the cards again have finally got the correct results for todays Mixed Foursomes Championships. Had a shocker at presentations but the full results are below. Many thanks to Robert Baker, Cheryl & Normy Royal for donating towards the event again, Many thanks to the players that played and supported this event and special thanks to the BBQ cookers for the Steak sandwiches after we finished to help warm ourselves up after reasonably cool day. Congratulations to Denise Haesler & David Naveau taking out this years Mixed Foursomes and to Marg Hollow & Doug Ney winning the B Grade prize. Kathy Martin & Fletcher Ivey are the correct winners of the overall nett after recalculating the dodgy mathematics of the match committee.

02.01.2022 A change up with the 4ball aggregate Par event played yesterday with Mitchell & Kurt Cusack sponsoring the day. Members will notice if theyre not straight enough the committee has decided to leave some areas un-mown to create some very heavy rough, from the fairway mown height well maintain approximately a 10 metre wide fringe each side then itll become difficult to find your ball, so you will need to think a bit more about your shot and keep your ball in play.

01.01.2022 The Wellington Mowers & Chainsaws Par 3 Championships are on this Sunday over 27 holes. $40 to play includes a Steak Sandwich. Tee times are open on the 1st Tee only from 9am to 11am in 6 minute intervals. Please hurry to book a spot as vacancies are filling fast by calling the Club on 6845 2130 or for members login to miclub to access the live Timesheet. Only financial Wellington Golf club members are legible to contest the Par 3 championships but we welcome any golf club members to who would like a game to come and play.
