24.01.2022 **SUBSONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL UPDATE** We are still reeling from the fact that we could not hold the Festival as planned in December and are feeling absolutely blessed to have received so much love and support from the community over the past few weeks. Thanks again to all who attended our headline artist shows in Sydney. It was incredible to see you all out in solidarity.... We understand all involved are eagerly awaiting an update regarding the future plans for the Festival. We had hoped things could have moved along a little quicker, but given the holiday season and the current fire events we still cannot confirm a new date or venue where we can safely hold the event. We are working closely with insurers & stakeholders and although we cant formally notify people regarding the next steps of the process just yet, we hope to have news for you all very soon. Its been a tough year for live music in NSW and even tougher for drought and fire affected communities. Our thoughts are with those affected and to those still battling the terrifying fires day and night. Stay strong & safe everybody and thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.

20.01.2022 SUBSONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL UPDATE # 4 "HANGING IN THE BALANCE" Every single day, we are working as a team to bring you the best possible outcome we can. As you are aware, we had no choice but to postpone our event because of raging bushfires that made gathering by the drought stricken river way too dangerous. Your safety is always our priority, but now we are in a very tricky situation as a result. ... We wholeheartedly thank you for your patience and loyalty as we battle a very complex insurance claim process. We understand from your perspective you simply want a resolution. Believe us when we say we are in exactly the same boat - we are doing everything we can to gain clear directives from the insurer to expedite the process and/ or lodge an internal dispute. Your patience is direct support of the future of Subsonic Music Festival, and your loyalty will make or break us. We are holding onto the vision of that glorious fun day in the sun at Riverwood Downs, dancing to the best talent we can present. We are doing everything we can to keep that vision alive. Insurance claims are complex, and we are watching as event after event is falling, first from the bushfires, then floods, now the Coronavirus. These here are the most unexpected of times in our history and we ask for your ongoing patience as we do our best to deal with it. Within the strict guidelines set out by our legal obligations, we are working on pathways to give back and to keep the community together. As a start, we want to make sure we have clear communication with you. We will be sharing more regular updates and as always we are here to listen to your needs. We want you to know we have your back and we are here to help in any way we can. Our next update will be in a fortnight and we hope to provide a detailed insight into the insurance claims process, the internal dispute resolution process and pathways for support via AFCA. 14.01.2022 Know Your Waste! For the past few years Subsonic has been making a serious effort to become one of Australias most waste-conscious festivals. Our ultimate goal is to become a completely waste free event. We can only reach this goal with your help and we have introduced lots of initiatives to help you become more aware of the waste you generate. Scattered around the Festival site youll see our Know Your Waste stations. Bright yellow, lit up at night and with sup...er clear signage these centres help you make the right choice for any waste youre disposing. Take the time to understand the difference between what is compostable, recyclable and landfill and use the right bin. When you first enter the Festival, youll be given a waste pack which contains everything you need to sort your waste correctly at your campsite. Consisting of separate bags for compost, recycling and landfill make sure you take the time to set your campsite up properly. Our fabulous MOOP TROOP will be paying you a little visit to help you keep your site clean and answer any questions you may have. At the end of the Festival you can drop your waste off at the collection point, near the front gate. Your time and effort in doing this goes a long way to helping us keep the site pristine and capture as much recycling and compost as possible. We want you to Know Your Waste and help us make Subsonic a completely sustainable event.

13.01.2022 Venue Update Sat Dec 7: Thanks to all those who pre registered for tonights events. Due to limited capacity at The Vault (Doors open 4pm) and Club 77, entry to these shows will be for Subsonic Music Festival ticket holders only (pre registration not comulsory- just a festival ticket required). Pre registration unfortunately does not guarantee you entry. Arriving early is the best advice we can give and please be sure to bring your festival ticket with you. For those who atten...ded last nights events, your wristband is all you will need to gain entry, but again, please arrive early. Home Nightclub (doors open 9pm) and The Bridge Hotel (Doors open midnight) have a strictly limited allocation of door tickets for those non festival ticket holders wishing to attend. Again, we cannot emphasise early arrival enough! All our stallholders will be serving food and drink on compostable cutlery and we compost everything on site. However, we want you to bring your own reusable cups, plates/bowls and cutlery from home. Its easy enough to pick up beforehand and pack in the camping kit and it will mean youll be helping us reduce the manufacture a...nd transport of goods. Most important of all, please bring a water bottle and/or reusable cup with you. This year we are expanding our filtered water stations throughout the Festival so you can stay hydrated with clean, pristine water. 04.01.2022 SUBSONIC MUSIC UPDATE # 5 We wish we could wave a magic wand and make everything right again. Wed all be gearing up for another Subclub session about now or looking forward to more festival news! In the meantime, we remain committed to working for a positive outcome with our insurance claim in this new world with Covid-19. For now, all of our event ideas are on hold so we can #STAYATHOME We understand you still need answers, while we continue to fight the insurers for a pos...itive outcome. Heres a list of commonly asked questions. Why cant we receive a refund now? To put it simply, money from tickets is used to cover the costs with planning, marketing, artist fees and production of the event. How else could we afford to bring you such a beautiful venue and amazing artists? The closer we get to the event, the higher the percentage of spend has to be allocated to costs. For Subsonic 2019, the gates were almost open so a very high % of vital event costs had already been covered, meaning funds were simply not available to offer full refunds to ticket holders. Why is Subsonic able to access ticket revenue before the event? In events, this is a standard way of doing business. Ticket revenue is made accessible via an agreement with our ticketing provider. A condition of this agreement is that we hold a valid Event Cancellation Insurance Policy, which covers unavoidable disasters, such as bushfire leading to the cancellation of our event. Its supposed to ensure that we are able to honour the entitlements of ticket holders, vendors and stakeholders - and this is what we are fighting for. Why is the insurer taking so long to honour the claim? We wish we knew the answer to this! We have lodged an IDR (Formal complaint). If the complaint is not resolved within 45 days the matter can be elevated to AFCA. AFCA have the authority to force a decision and will assess the case themselves. We still have a little to work through yet, but the timeline and pathway ahead has more clarity. Your patience and loyalty means so much to us. Please, stay positive and stay in touch! 03.01.2022 Subsonic Music Festival 2019 - Official is postponed, tickets are valid for a swathe of club shows to take place in Sydney December 6th - 8th as well revised festival dates later this summer. Subsonic Music Festival has today announced the postponement of the annual boutique festival until early next year. The postponement comes amid safety concerns arising from ongoing fires in the area and critically low water levels in the Karuah River. This has resulted in Riverwood Downs... removing permission to use the venue on the scheduled date. The Festival has secured a stunning new venue and a revised date and location for this summers epic Subsonic Music Festival will be announced shortly. All tickets remain valid for the new date and venue and tickets holders will also gain access to a series of exciting club shows happening in Sydney across the weekend of December 6th - 8th. Despite our best efforts to work through the concerns of the event stakeholders, unfortunately, we have been given no other option but to temporarily postpone the festival. We will shortly be announcing our exciting new venue location and a new date for this Summers Festival. We will also be announcing a whole swathe of wicked club shows for the weekend of December 6th - 8th, so that our wonderful Subsonic ticket buyers will still get to see the artists they are excited about. We would like to offer our sincere apologies to all our patrons, artists, stallholders, staff and volunteers that are affected by the postponement. We were only advised of the unavailability of Riverwood Downs at very late notice and were unable to safely change the venue for next weekend. The collaboration between Subsonic and Riverwood Downs has been a great one, spanning many years.
