22.01.2022 ‘Blue Water Sea Turtle’ is one of my favourite collages made entirely out of recycled magazines. Every collage has a story or a message behind it or hidden within it. In this case, if you look closely at the type around the turtle you will find ‘Protect our Oceans’ and other ocean references. The textures and colours of this piece are beautiful in real life and worth a look at Basecamp Cafe where it is being exhibited as part of SALA. 07.01.2022 MJ - The GOAT (Greatest of All Time) This collage is slightly different in technique from some of my other collages. It consists of only larger cut (not ripped) pieces of paper from recycled magazines and if you look closely even the curves are made from straight edges. 90% of the text used also relates to basketball. The other difference is the painted black background rather than using magazine pieces. Even though SALA finished at the end of August, my work will still be ex...hibited at Basecamp Cafe Burnside throughout September.
