16.01.2022 [A little background on this picture] But first, thank you to my client for letting me take it mid-treatment. I do appreciate when you all let me share pics, it really helps grow my business Before lockdown I had been seeing this client for about a year, with regular monthly appointments we had deminished the hair greatly and growth was coming back finer.... I was happy to see today she hasn't been shaving, I know sometimes it isn't avoidable. She had one go with supermarket wax strips, but no shaving. I haven't seen her since March, and I am incredibly impressed. The roots were still quite shallow and weak, and the hair came out easily. It just goes to show, that with consistency you can achieve long term results! Yes todays session took longer than her normal appointment, because more hair cycles were on the surface. But the ease of sugaring was not dissimilar to pre-lockdown sessions. Look at that freshly sugared leg! The photo was shot IMMEDIATELY after sugaring, no soothing cream was applied beforehand either. And yet, there is no redness or irritation! Just smoothe skin If you have been getting frustrated with waxing or shaving, it may be time to give sugaring a try! (Also, I want it noted the unsugared leg is covered in a dusting of corn flour. She doesn't have scaly legs) And the most important part of today's appointment! It was great to see her again and catch up. Plus! I got to meet her seriously cute new baby, she gave birth to an adorable baby boy while we were in lockdown

12.01.2022 I just realised I shared my news on my personal account, but not this one! Oh well... I'm proud to announce I've headed back to school!... I'm in my third week of an Undergraduate Certificate: Cosmetic Advisor. This six month course delves into Cosmetic chemistry, the Integumentary system and Profesional Practice, this. The beauty and cosmetic industry changes and evolves constantly, thats why I like to upskill regularly. This course is a standalone qualification, but is also a direct pathway into the clinical aesthetics degree I've been dreaming about for years. I just had to build my confidence abit By incorporating what I learn, I can offer you all a broader and more in-depth knowledge of skin and ingredients. Please post your answer in the comments... For me its 4, 8 and 13... I have a brand new range of body products I will be stocking in the salon very soon!! My opening order goes in on Monday, and I need to pick THREE all natural infusions for the starter kit. *These are natural infusions using botanical extracts, no artificial fragrances! Thank you for taking part, I will be ordering the most popular infusions, and will announce them on monday . But this is just for the opening order, if your favourite doesn't get picked it can be added to a future order. Just let me know

08.01.2022 I've been experimenting with my henna again.... Neutral Brown is my number 1. Favourite shade for medium brunettes, it lends such a natural warmth to the brows. Unfortunately, it can sometimes turn reddish or fade quickly on the skin. ... But I think I've cracked it! By adding the smallest amount of Taupe and using a little less solution. Better colour fastness, but still maintaining the warmth of the henna.

08.01.2022 When someone comes to me with dry skin, wanting to start a simple skin regime; this is what I start them on. Just two (amazing) products. The aim is not to overwhelm the skin, while allowing the client to get used to using cosmecuatical products that are much more active than what people are used to. The Gentle Cream Cleanser... Its brilliant for delicate and sensitive skin, skin that tends to be dry. It can also be used as an eye makeup remover as it is safe to use directly around the delicate eye area. It is very creamy and concentrated, you only need a little mixed with water. *This is the cleanser I use for the 1st cleanse during facials, it removes every skerrick of make up and sunscreen. Nourishing Face oil Even though it contains rose hip, this is not a thick or gluggy oil. Its a light, nourishing face oil that helps calm the skin and boost hydration. It's ultra-pure oils help calm inflammation and provide antioxidants to the skin. I have yet to come across someone who, doesn't love this oil! If you suffer from rosacea or dryness, this is the oil for you. It can be used alone, or ontop of your daily moisturiser to lock in hydration. Combined these two products will work to smooth, calm, and hydrate a compromised skin.

And I think with the state of the world right now, we are all making a greater effort to support our local creators. A collaborative store front will make that a lot easier. So well made, and affordable Elle & Me Handmade is one of the collaborators for Lilly & Wattle Co, I look forward to seeing what else they have on offer!

04.01.2022 Not gonna lie, my hands hate me I'm so happy with the progress I've made with my skin this year, my congestion has cleared up and my malasma is slooowly lightening. But I'm most impressed with my hands, compared with 5 months ago they look amazing! So, I wash my hands at LEAST 20 times a day(yes, I counted). And its not because of Covid-19 either, just the work I do. ... I'm constantly wearing gloves and using hand sanitizer, so I often had cracking and dryness.It was not a good look. My hands moisture barrier is constantly being stripped of the natural oils it needs to stay intact, and if I don't use a cream they turn into a bloody mess. Literally. Last year I was using a tallow balm and it was brilliant, but I could only use it at night as it would stick to my gloves while I was working. I've would use the MooGoo hand cream, and it was ok, but not moisturizing enough for me. I've now been using the Hand and Body Nutrition for about 4 months now and I'm not switching back! The base of the cream is Cupuacu, Babacu, and Shea butters that are extremely moisturizing, but without residue. (No slimy gloves!) Within 2 minutes my skin is dry to touch, and ready to get back to work! So I highly recommend it for chapped skin, its even great for dermatitis. Especially when its used alongside the nourishing facial oil.

Straight brows are one of my favourite types to sugar, as the difference between a tamed and untamed straight brow is so dramatic...
