24.01.2022 Public Notification scheduled for release Monday 11th of May 2020 COViD 4740 Community resilience project: Expressions of interest statement. CALL OUT TO SONGWRITERS AND PERFORMERS OF ORIGINAL MUSICAL CONTENT.... How have the COViD 19 restrictions impacted you personally? Do you have a story to tell through a song you have written or are in the process of writing, written through the lens of your experience in these times with a positive message? Would you like to have the opportunity to have it professional recorded and produced as part of an Album with a video clip and a live performance of your song? Sugar Town Music, Mackay Australia, has put together a project team with over 100 years of combined experience at the highest professional levels. We are seeking expressions of interest from local musicians, songwriters and traditional nation music groups, in an effort to nurture the diversity that the Mackay region has to offer. This project is collectively aimed across all music culture backgrounds to demonstrate our community resilience, solidarity and inclusiveness, and support for the music, hospitality and other affected industry sectors. It aims to do this as a social service for the Mackay region community. The healing power of music is well documented and has the ability to reach out into the community, and bring community together, as we continue to navigate through the current imposed restrictions and look to transition to life beyond COViD 19. 24.01.2022 Some of our Project Team members, Scott, Sarah and Adrian joined Meech at ABC Tropical North for a chat this week. They slotted in a great tune from local Josh Geiger live jams - "The NEXT GOOD THING"- (our team member Luke of Luke Geiger & Bareback in suppport on vocals). Make sure that you are encouraging the song writers in your life to join in this project! #COVID4740 - Seabreeze Hotel we cant wait till we are able to have the live event to go with our album!

22.01.2022 Scott, the BIC (bloke in charge) for the #COVID4740 project last week had a chat to Adam Stephen who is the #Tunesday host over at ABC Tropical North studio - and he will back on air with a few other team members with Meech on Tuesday morning after 9am - tune in and keep up to date with how we are rock and rolling along! The great tunes in the intro and outro of this are from local band, the Young Counts. A couple of their members are on the project team!

20.01.2022 UPDATE - COViD 4740 Community Resilience Project SHOUT OUT Infidel Studios Duncan Lowe, Paco Villegas, John Ward One of the special COViD Lock-down tunes on the Album written by John Ward and Margaret Ross through their experience in lock-down.... Life circumstance and border closure meant recording John's vocal was another story of displacement, unobtainium to get back across the QLD border.. Through an associate Infidel of Sugar Town Music, Paco the original founder of Infidel Studios some 21 years ago, led us to Duncan the new Infidel in charge. This is a SHOUT OUT to the guys at Infidel Studios in Canberra for making this happen, tracking the vocals. Another example of collaboration to keep the music alive during in the new world. Thank You Duncan from Infidel Studios & John. And to complete the arrangement for this track more is to come with the Mackay and Whitsunday Strings

He has put together a team of industry people who have also felt the affects of the changes to our worlds, and are keen to offer their time and skills to help foster and support the musicians in our very diverse community.
