21.01.2022 The Regional Roundup is a space to share what’s happening to prevent suicide in our region. We need this because our best chance of supporting families and saving lives is by working together, making the most of the resources and training we have here and not wasting time and energy on duplication or trying to do it all ourselves. You’ll also find here an update about on actions taken to progress the strategies in the Suicide Prevention Community Action Plan. The Planning Gr...oup meets monthly, works continuously and welcomes your input or feedback into the strategies. We hope you find this information useful and that you share it with others who can benefit as well. If you have any resources or other information to be shared, or want help with something, please message our page. https://mailchi.mp/4c1886bb098c/regional-roundup-7398549

20.01.2022 In times when we are so often isolated from each other, it is more important than ever to gather together in recognition of the impact that suicide and strained... mental health has on a community. 10 September is RU OK and to show their support of the World Suicide Prevention Day initiative, Dyno Nobel and Run for Mi Life representatives joined Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker, Cr Viv Coleman and other Council officers in Moranbah Town Square. We stand in recognition of our mates, family and colleagues who have lost their lives, and make it clear that it is ok to ask for help. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, learn more of what can be done to provide help and care to those in need by clicking on the links below. www.ruok.org.au www.iasp.info/wspd2020/ www.lifeline.org.au/

06.01.2022 You can’t pour from an empty cup. In essence self care is anything that fills up your cup. This is deeply individual and personal what floats your boat might not float someone else’s. It’s really important to figure out what works for you and having a whole range of ideas because not all feelings or situations call for the same solution. And if you figure out what works for you (and what doesn’t) it leaves you with a sense of confidence that you can manage your own feelings. What are some self-care activities you do?
