01.01.2022 We are very humbled by the willingness others have shown to help out with our week out west and we want to send a few shout outs to convey our most heartfelt th...anks and to name a few folks who went above and beyond. Firstly (and these are not in any specific order); To Trish at Sullivan's Newsagency thank you for your all your hard work putting us in touch with the right people and for trusting us at face value to do the right thing. JACOB: your picture and letter are on display for all the farmers to see on the noticeboard :D To Steve at Alford and Duff; definitely a man with his community’s best interest at heart. His honesty and passion were infectious. To the wonderfully helpful ladies at the Tenterfield Information Centre, thank you so much for expediting our request and doing everything you could to get it sorted for us. To Laynee at Herbie and Bella's for all your help in the lead up and for the work you continue to do for your community from here on in. To Robyn and Steve at Oakhurst, thank you for sharing your home and your story with us. Great people with big hearts and wonderful hospitality. To all of you who trusted us, no questions asked with your donations. A huge amount of trust goes with that and we couldn’t have done anything without you. We hope we have served you well. Thank you to all of you. To the primary producers suffering as much if not more than their stock; your tenacity, positivity and resilience is amazing and your stories have made a great impact on us. Three stories hit us the hardest on our travels. One farmer has a 2200 acre farm and the only stock he has left on it are two bulls. Another told us he only has 8 weeks left and if it doesn’t rain, he has to quit and sell what few stock have survived. Another said he had one round of terrible quality hay left and after that he had nothing to feed stock. He can’t get hay locally because it’s all being sent south or west and the local prices are so high he can’t afford it. Random acts of kindness might seem like a small drop in the ocean but to those who receive it and the heartfelt wishes behind them, it means a lot. Thanks again to everyone for your support. It’s been amazingnow carry on our work and pay it forward x PS we do have some residual funds and we're working out how to get them directly into the local area's support network. We'll keep you posted. See more
