25.01.2022 Summerhill Scouts played their part by participating in (1) ANZAC Eve Youth Vigil on ANZAC Eve, along with Scouts from 1st Tamar and 4th Launceston; (2) camping in back/front yards as part of a nation-wide Scouts ANZAC Camp@Home activity; (3) making ANZAC Lanterns and (4) the Driveway Dawn Service. We are proud to have all of you Scouts take time out to reflect and honour those who served, who still serve, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. LEST WE FORGET.

25.01.2022 Akela is very proud of our Cubs. Last night each cub stood guard as a vigil to our ANZACs. This morning at 6am some cubs stood at the end of driveways. And then at 11am they will stand again and lay wreaths. Some cubs slept in tents over night. No matter how much or how little we are proud of our cubs.

We are all proud of you! A big Thankyou to China for his assistance.

01.01.2022 SUMMERHILL SCOUTS @ CRADLE. Summerhill Scouts were fortunate to be the first group at BP Scout Hut post-COVID19 restrictions easing. All had an awesome time walking, checking the scenery and local wildlife, testing ice crunchiness of frozen pools, staging battles using snowballs, singing loudly to the amusement of tourists and generally doing the OUT in Scouting. We even had a Scout who had never touched snow (came from Rockhampton QLD). Nights were filled with delicious food..., tonnes of hot chocolate, great company and even louder sing-a-longs that ROCKED Scout Hut. Stability of the hut cannot be guaranteed after our singing. Stay at your own risk. We even bumped into an ex-Venturer from 4th, who was working up there. Thanks to Panda from 4th and Mushroom who were part of the adult carers. Summerhill Scouting adventures continue . . . . . See more
