23.01.2022 #SSitV is held in Cuddihy Park. The Albert Shire Council bought a quarter acre lot from Mr Cuddihy on 15th March 1962 for 205. That’s about $6000 in today’s dollars. The Cuddihy family ran the Post Office (and the telephone exchange, for a time) between 1928 and 1983. Jim, pictured here with Cr Bill Laver at the unveiling of the plinth and plaque (that still sits in the park), was involved for 55 years. 20.01.2022 It is with some sadness we confirm that #SSitV will not be held during Spring & Summer of 2020. We love getting together and celebrating our community and Gold Coast musicians and look forward to 2021 when we hope some constraints might be lifted on small events in public parks. As you might imagine, Polly and Glenn and Damo and Sharon and the whole team are pretty frustrated by this necessary decision. The #COVID19 restrictions being placed on small events in public parks (s...uch as fencing, patron monitoring, data collection, sanitising and social distancing) render it impractical to deliver our event during this season for the allocated budget and available team. In addition, we acknowledge the efforts of live music venues across the city at this difficult time to support musicians and their venue stakeholders, and we'll be supporting other local venues promotionally (as we've always done) during the Spring and Summer season, many of whom already have the capacity to deliver COVID-Safe events. We encourage lovers of #SSitV to keep an eye on Blank GC for the latest in #GoldCoast music releases, support local artists by buying merch and tickets, and set aside a little budget each week (if you can) for a night out at great local venues to buy food and beverages. We expect a return to live music soon for The Wallaby Hotel, The Wine Barrel, Woodchoppers BBQ SMOKE & GRILL, Panchos Tex Mex Mudgeeraba and other great local venues, and a few further afield who support local live music like BBQ Bazaar, Mo's Desert Clubhouse and Burleigh Brewing Co.. Please support them as they support local original GC musicians and music.

The program is designed to bring more live music to Australian communities and will fund applications that support quality original Australian live music that is professionally staged, with a focus on small to medium venues.
