Unable to take him skydiving, we did the next best thing and brought the parachute to him. 22.01.2022 SummitCare Wallsend will celebrate a momentous event on Friday when our resident Milton turns 100 and celebrates ten years living in our home. I have no regrets. I have a great life, he says. For me, it’s all about bringing enjoyment to other people that’s what makes me happy. One of the keys to Milton’s ongoing satisfaction is his busy life at Wallsend. Between yoga, family outings and singing in the Waratah Male Voice Warblers choir, he has something on every day.... Just the way he likes it.

Gifted his letter from the Queen and a medal commemorating the end of WW2 (as he is a decorated serviceman) Milton also enjoyed the company from his friends in the Waratah Warblers! Residents participated in an Aboriginal artwork day, painting different boomerang designs which are a symbol of cultural endurance and a tangible link to their long presence on this continent. Residents also watched an Australian Aboriginal documentary which allowed them to gain knowledge of our first ...people. Staff members Mamata & Subita dressed up and performed traditional dance much to everyone's delight, and residents from Magnolia (DSU) participated in the parade to the mainstream area with colourful streamers and candles.
