22.01.2022 Countdown is on....... 7 more sleeps till Anzac Day Whether you are going to the footy or relaxing at home, start the day by coming on down and paying your respects.
21.01.2022 So we can't all be together at the cenotaph in Sunbury at dawn on Anzac morning - but we can still honour the sacrifices made by those men and women who serve and have died in military operations around the world. In these uncertain times the qualities evoked by our ANZAC Spirit of ingenuity, humour, endurance, courage and mateship are more important then ever. We encourage you all to Light Up The Dawn with your ANZAC Spirit.... Stand in your driveway, on your balcony or in your living room to remember those loved ones and the ones we did not know. Wear your medals and uniforms, light a candle, listen to the last post on the radio, hold photos of those who served or fly our flags (Aus and NZ). We might not be able to be together but we can all still remember by observing a minutes silence at 0600 hours. LEST WE FORGET!
21.01.2022 Some great pieces at great prices

14.01.2022 2019 Trip to Kerrisdale A trip in a train with open carriages uphill stopping occasionally and Andrew offered History stories about the general area and just what we could see. The views are spectacular looking over the Ranges towards Yea and beyond. Kangaroo Valley. Andrew told a story about Hume and Hovell as they were searching for Westernport Bay. H & H never made it that far.... At the Summit Andrew once again had stories to relate and gave us a run down on some of the old relics that on top of the hill. Back down again (Zig Zag) and to be once again greeted by Jenny and a nice lunch, followed by the raffle, tea/coffee and back into the bus and home. Another great day with good company.

08.01.2022 You know some days are just more special than others. Well, for me today was one of those days. At our general meeting of the Nashos, I had the absolute priviledge and pleasure to present Life Membership Badges to 2 of the loveliest men on this earth. Ray Tebble and Ken Old, I thank you for your service to the Nashos, in particular our Sunbury Sub-branch. You both have served our Sub-branch with distinction and loyalty and we are all better off for having you in the positions... of, Ray, Treasurer and Ken, Secretary. I thank all the Members who rallied to the Meeting. We had 2 wives of late presidents, namely Irene ICELY and Kay RAE as well as Chrissie McMAHON, wife of the ;late Bill McMAHON (Patron). All in all it was a lovely Meeting and it made me proud to be the current President. Thanks to Bazz for organising morning tea which was supplied by Luke and staff at Timeless Catering. Ian Richard Goss PRESIDENT
07.01.2022 Night out at Government House for volunteers from the north. Ian Goss and Ken Old represented the Sunbury NASHOS
07.01.2022 At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted allied terms that amounted to unconditional surrender. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month at...tained a special significance in the post-war years. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. This first modern world conflict had brought about the mobilisation of over 70 million people and left between 9 and 13 million dead, perhaps as many as one-third of them with no known grave. The allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead. Remembrance Day 2020 - minute silence at 11am
06.01.2022 We would like to share our condolences with the relatives and many friends of Daphne Dunne, who passed away yesterday at the age of 99. Daphne was a proud suppo...rter of Australian service men and women. She was married to VC recipient Albert Chowne and subsequently to John Patrick Dunne, who was a POW at Changi. Daphne served in the Australian Womens Army Service during WWII. She will be fondly remembered by many. See more
06.01.2022 2019 June visit to the Western Bulldogs It was a very cold day, but nice and warm inside. We started with a coffee to warm us up on arrival. There were a few faces in the cafe that those footy goers amongst us picked out, of some ex footballers or TV crews. Training was on, but hidden from us by the curtains.... We were able to look at the interesting displays of history for the club and Trophies won. Lunch was good and it was a busy cafe with Victoria University students there as well. Then back to the warmth of the bus and home safely with Jim Skillen driving. Go Doggies!

01.01.2022 Late notice but the Nashos have a sausage sizzle on at Bunnings Sunbury tomorrow. If you want brekky or lunch, a chat, a coffee, come on down and say gday and do all of the above. Looks like being a reasonable day so why not get out of the house for a couple of hours. Any assistance is most welcome.
