16.01.2022 ***Jobkeeper 2.0 Announcement *** Firstly, Jobkeeper will remain the same until the 28th September. After the 28th September, the Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Treasurer Josh Frydenberg have announced that the current $1,500 per fortnight JobKeeper payment will be reduced to $1,200 per fortnight from 28 September, and $750 per fortnight for employees working less than 20 hours a week.... From 4 January, the rate will again fall to $1,000 per fortnight, and $650 for people working less than 20 hours a week. Businesses will still be required to demonstrate the required reduction in turnover- 30 per cent for businesses with turnovers of $1 billion or less, 50 per cent for those with turnover of more than $1 billion, and 15 per cent for ACNC-registered charities. However, the government will now require businesses to reapply the tests for the June and September quarters to be eligible for JobKeeper 2.0 beyond September. Employers will need to demonstrate that they've met the relevant decline in turnover in both the June and September quarters to be eligible for the JobKeeeper payment in the December quarter, said Mr Frydenberg. Employers will need to demonstrate that they have met the relevant decline in each of the previous three quarters ending on 31 December 2020 to remain eligible for the payment in the March quarter 2021.

12.01.2022 JobKeeper UPDATE - Step 2 Have you lodged your Jobkeeper claim yet? Now you need to pop into your Business Portal and provide your monthly data to the ATO to ensure prompt payment of the first month of Jobkeeper payments - ie if you meet hte 30% downturn for March OR April. Here is a link to step by step by from the ATO:... https://www.ato.gov.au//JobKeeper-guide---employers-repo/ Have employees: Have you lodged your Jobkeeper claim yet for your employees and paid them any top - up payments necessary? You must have paid all top-up payments to $1500 per fortnight NO LATER than 8 May 2020 to be eligible to receive reimbursement for April wages. The Commissioner has extended the time to enrol for the initial JobKeeper periods, from 30 April 2020 until 31 May 2020. If you enrol by 31 May 2020, you will still be able to claim for the JobKeeper fortnights ending in April and May, provided you meet all the eligibility requirements for each for those fortnights. This includes having paid your employees by the appropriate date for each fortnight. Keydates: 4 May onwards - Identify your employees By 8 May - Meet the wage condition for Fortnight 1 and Fortnight 2. I.e. pay your employees $1,500 for each fortnight to claim JobKeeper payments for April. By 10 May - Meet the wage condition for Fortnight 3 By 24 May - Meet the wage condition for Fortnight 4 By 31 May - Final date to enrol to claim for JobKeeper fortnights in April and May.

09.01.2022 UPDATE: Sole trades and Self Employed and the new JobKeeper Payment. Please note legislation is yet to be passed and there are still details to and criteria to follow this is a basic requirement outline. Here is what you will need to provide:... Businesses without employees: Businesses without employees, such as the self-employed, can register their interest in applying for JobKeeper Payment via ato.gov.au from 30 March 2020. Businesses without employees will need to provide an ABN for their business, nominate an individual to receive the payment and provide that individual’s Tax File Number and provide a declaration as to recent business activity. People who are self-employed will need to provide a monthly update to the ATO to declare their continued eligibility for the payments. Following registration by the eligible business, the Government will provide $1,500 per fortnight per eligible employee for a maximum of 6 months.... The JobKeeper Payment is available to eligible employers, businesses including companies, partnerships, trusts and sole traders, not-for-profits and charities. The intent of the JobKeeper Payment is to enable any eligible self-employed person get a wage subsidy regardless of what business structure they use, where: - the partners in a partnership only receive a share of profits one partner can be nominated to receive it - directors of a company only receive dividends one direct can be nominated to receive it - beneficiaries of a trust only receive distributions one individual beneficiary (i.e. not a corporate beneficiary) can be nominated to receive it
