24.01.2022 Hello there everyone, it has been long time since the last posting, we had 2 camera's broken:-( and it took a little while to get back to the flow again. Anyhow I am posting here just the most recent photos ( activities) children had last week and this week. -too much fun with tug-of-war, yoga relaxation, visit of ginger and flopsy (Aryana's rabbits), wooden bed blocks, Neinei reading to Foxy, duck-duck-goose at the park, yay fun on the way to the park (no need for hats), water ballon target:-), more mess on hand painting, marble painting, playdough muffins-making. I was so amazed that several children said that their favorite fruit is pomegranate:-) Enjoy as we all do!

22.01.2022 Thank you very much Araleena for the wonderful Healthy Kids workshop, it was invaluable indeed, we all loved the workshop. Children were busy playing and working:-) - new toy- bugs building, incursion by Angela on Aboriginal learning and stories, necklaces/wrist band making, everyone loves memory group games, volcano eruption, making bridges at the park using twigs and leaves, climbing a tree? yes, the number of confident kids in climbing a tree is increasing no doubt:-) and finally wool felting. -

21.01.2022 Today is pretty hot day with 33C and yes, children are being reminded to drink water often. In these photos taken at different time, children doing yoga, snake and ladder, kinetic sand with tiny animals, music incursion with the mini maestros company, and of course the curiosity over the unhatched eggs from our stick insects friends. "Love isn't love until you give it away.....they roll and roll across the floor......."

20.01.2022 Yet another great week for the children with cooperative fun activities and just climbing at the park.

19.01.2022 Welcome to Sunrise Preschool and Long Daycare Thornbury! We have opened in May 23, 2016, so this is our first term of the year, 2017 marking our first full operation. Please check our website: www.sunrisepreschool.vic.edu.au email: [email protected]

18.01.2022 From these photos, children are learning how to write their names (using clay or writing on chalkboard etc), some maths and architectural design, and other innovative creations like stick insects from plain white papers on sticky tape, and pottery made of clay. They also experience how to serve their fellow friends with crackers during morning tea, and having lunch at the park. Trying out the group game that they learned from the volunteers from primary school nearby, matching friends card game, as well as we had another visit of our friend police officer, with lots of high fives after the meeting, last but not the least tiny lego building is the week's best hit. Stay tuned for more photos and posts next week.

18.01.2022 These past few weeks, the focus of our activities was on developing gross motor skills. As you can see, going to park isn't enough at all. We need to do something with our extra energy left until the moment we go to bed at night... . The photos showed: on our way to park, at the park with skipping ropes, tree climbing and other group game, and back to kinder, then we do more long jumps, walking on a straight line, jump into a square and hopscotch and dance. We are growing fast, so we play more and eat more and rest less Lastly, grandma of Gus made him a Gruffalo beanie, wow, what a talent.

18.01.2022 Busy chefs, a try-out using play dough. They have a really good time at Sunrise.

17.01.2022 a throwback from November last year; children prepared pumpkin soup, and it seemed they liked it.

16.01.2022 Did you know that common behaviors that children exhibit may not be behaviors at all....they may be a cry for help. Find out more here: http://theinspiredtreehouse.com/sensory-processing-myths/

15.01.2022 Children play with water, harvest and eat cherry tomatoes, meditate in the garden and count the heads before going off to park, many things happen in one day:-) here.

15.01.2022 Last week we had several exciting activities that were not our usual typical week. We had a visit of a police officer with very inspiring 30 min discussion on "safety" and calling 000, there were very good ideas from our little people to my amazement. They also get to sit inside the police car, the blue and red lights were on, tried hats and got to hold the very heavy vest too. Right after that, the primary school children from Thornbury waited for our children to play. I can say they nailed it! Today, we were blessed by the visit of a grandma and grandpa and they taught the children how to make some beautiful cards, everyone loved the experience.
