The Risk and WHS Coordinator will play an active role in ensuring the Superior Group meets all due diligence responsibilities under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and associated regulations and codes of practice, offering... technical advice and solutions to support the organisations safe operations. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional in a full-time capacity, who will embrace Superior’s values, and bring passion and positivity, to a strong team. Applicants will need to be innovative, proactive, energetic and tenacious with a strong commitment to safety, excellence and 'getting the job done'. Your responsibilities will include: - Undertake audits of the current WHS Policy & WHS Management System and recommend any changes across. - Observe and monitor the safety performance of three workplaces and on-site operations, and identify any risks or hazards. - Collaborate with Superior’s Executive Team, QMS Manager, People Manager, and staff to achieve positive WHS changes. - Develop, implement, improve and monitor effective WHS and risk management systems, policies and procedures. - Monitor, discuss, implement and maintain awareness of legislative updates. - Coordinate the Health & Safety Committee meetings and activities. - Manage all health & safety incidents and hazard reporting and investigate where necessary. - Coordinate resources, awareness activities, guest speakers and meetings for Safe Work Month each October. The successful candidate will have/be: - At least 5 years’ experience in a WHS / Risk specialist capacity, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with an extensive understanding of WHS legislation. - A positive and effective communicator with a collaborative and consultative approach to driving health and safety improvements. - Won’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty to understand what makes the Superior Group work. - Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety - A great work ethic, drive, commitment and a dedication to achieving results. - The ability to manage timelines and deadlines with excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail. - The ability to take ownership of assigned projects and demonstrate decision making and problem-solving skills. - Excellent computer skills; encompassing Microsoft 365, scheduling and job costing software, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
