25.01.2022 Today’s lessons are on! The power outage scheduled for all morning is restored, the pool water is a toasty 32 degrees and the pumps are running. Sorry for confusion - I was trying to give plenty of notice via TEAM APP.

23.01.2022 SuperKids Aquatic is excited to extend the water safety message by hosting a 'beach awareness' session for families who aren't familiar with beaches or may feel a bit unsure about the dangers and what they can do to help their families stay safer when they visit the beach. This is a FREE community event so you don't have to be one of our swim families to participate but you will need to register as numbers are limited. When: Sunday 6th December... Where: Secret Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club Secret Harbour Blvd, Secret Harbour 6173 (approx 35 minutes drive from Byford) Meet on the grassed area. Look for the SuperKids Aquatic flag. Time: 9 - 10.30am (arrive by 8.30 as parking will be busy due to surf club activities). What you need to know: * This is a 'dry' event. You do not need to enter the water to participate. * Contact on the day is Katii Traeger, 0477 196 901 Wear suitable beach clothes & footwear. Welcome emails were sent just before Christmas (check junk if you missed it) Swimmers will receive a FREE swim bag & swim cap tomorrow... Swimmers will receive a level completion certificate or encouragement certificate on Friday Remember, our Admin team are still on holidays until Monday 11th January so if you would like to purchase goggles, you will need to bring $15 cash.

12.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID 19 UPDATE As part of the WA Government updated requirements regarding contact tracing, all patrons over 16 years attending our facility will be required to 'sign in' using a QR code. Click this link to take you directly where you can download the APP ... https://safewa.health.wa.gov.au This will take effect from 5 December 2020. Even though it may be a little inconvenient, in the event of an outbreak, this will make a huge difference. It's really simple to set up & will become normal wherever you go. Simply - Download the 'safeWA' app on your device Register your details. Bring your device when you attend our facility. How will it work? When you attend from the 5 December, you will be required to scan our QR code when entering. Each person over 16 years with you will need to do this. You can enter an additional person as part of your entry. If you attend with children under 16, their details do not need to be recorded. (We keep attendance records for all our swimmers). If a person attends without having previously downloaded the APP, they will have to manually register (which just takes a little longer). Having the APP on your device will save you time when entering.

If your child is in Seahorse or above (including our preschoolers), come dressed with clothing OVER your swimmers and leave your goggles at home. In ...first photo you’ll see the height of the girl next to another 12 year old. In the second photo, after 10 steps, she cannot touch the bottom. Can you tell that the girl is also in a rip? For some kids it has also been challenging - simple things like not wearing goggles or being out of their comfort zone without the familiarity of the regular lesson. 02.01.2022 ‘What’s the point of safety week? Isn’t every lesson safety week?’ Every swimming lesson, babies & children are learning skills that are repeated and built upon week after week. They take time (usually a long time) to master working towards independent safety in & around water. Water safety week covers additional skills & activities that aren’t practiced in regular lessons. As part of safety week at SuperKids Aquatic we... Waer life jackets and learn that when wearing them, we come back up to the top if we go under We learn that different long objects can be used to reach out & help someone We use ropes and objects to throw to reach somebody & we dive under & through objects to ‘rescue’ things (beanbags) off the bottom We practice holding all kinds of objects to help us float. We learn that some are easy,some are hard but we need to hang on We learn that the lifesavers at the beach wear red & yellow and they can help us if we get hurt (or help us find mum or dad when the grown ups get lost!) We learn that the safest place to swim at the beach is between the red & yellow flags and how to signal for help We give parents the chance to use various floaty jackets & pool toys to experience what they like & don’t like. #superkidsaquatic #swimsafer365days #slswa
