22.01.2022 Don't forget to load up on plenty of healthy rice, pasta and noodles today guys! And certainly don't forget to start your day with a big healthy bowl of highly processed whole grain cereals. Gotta get those whole grains :)
22.01.2022 46 years ago, the first thing I did when I arrived in this country was go to Muscle Beach to work out. Some things never change. Stopped by for a quick pump on my bike ride. What did you do for your workout today? #flexfriday #fitness #musclebeach #venice
22.01.2022 Have a read of this interesting article. Any thoughts?
21.01.2022 A very frequently misunderstood topic is protein. Many people do not understand whether or not they need a protein powder or meal replacement shake. Its not hard to understand where the confusion comes from since the supplement industry is a multi-billion dollar a year industry and is flooded with misinformation. In fact, most of the mens / womens health magazines are also owned by supplement companies and add to the misinformation. Do you drink protein powders or meal replacement shakes? http://supurmaniamfitness.blogspot.com//do-you-need-protei
20.01.2022 155lbs is about 70kg
20.01.2022 It's late, and I sure as Hell don't feel like training, but like the big guy says "Ain't nothin' to it but to do it"
20.01.2022 Any of you train or play sports with your kids?
20.01.2022 Do you drink skim milk? That's what pig farmers use as one the BEST ways of fattening up their pigs! Skim milk has been used as a method of fattening pigs for a very long time. According to a report called Fattening Pigs for Market by Oregon State Agricultural College from 1930, skim milk is not only the very best supplement for growing pigs, but is of almost equal value for fattening purposes. This is also true for children. A study found that kids who drank 1% or skim milk had higher BMI (body mass index = more fat on their bodies) than children who drank whole milk. Word to the wise: do not move your kids to 2%, 1% or skim milk in their growing years. It is detrimental to their health. It is also detrimental for adults to drink low fat and skim milks.
19.01.2022 Progressive loading!
19.01.2022 There is a very simple secret to packing on lean muscle, and getting shredded which people seem to consistently ignore. No it doesn't involve skipping meals. And it definitely doesn't involve swallowing weight loss pills or other quick fix crap that will set you up for short term weight loss (mostly water weight) and long term failure. The secret is Progressive Overload.... Most people will go into the gym, and (sometimes) warm up, and then try and lift as heavy as they can (often with very poor form), and repeat this every session, with the exact same weight. This gym "ego" is exactly why I love working out at home. There is no one to compete against but yourself. There is a Greek myth about a champion wrestler named Milo of Croton, of legendary strength. The story was, that Milo gained his strength by carrying a calf every day. As the calf grew up into a Bull, so did Milos strength grow along with it to adapt to the load. This is essentially the basic principle of Progressive Overload. Start every lift (Squat, Deadlift, Bench, etc) with an empty Barbell. Then, every single workout, add 2.5kg to this empty barbell. Sure you might look silly at your first workout lifting an empty barbell, but in just 12 weeks, you'll be squatting over 100kg. It really is that simple. If you want to get started, heres a great program: http://stronglifts.com/ I'm here to share all the knowledge I've gathered along the way, because I know how hard the struggle is. I know how much bullshit there is out there to wade through just to get to the real information. If what I'm publishing here helps even one person get started, then thats awesome.
16.01.2022 Great illustration of movements found in Ready to Run from our friends at Outside Magazine: http://bit.ly/1jn1gUo If you want to read the whole thing, with all 12 standards to avoid injury and improve your performance, you can order it here: bit.ly/1qgiB6s
15.01.2022 Do you stretch regularly? Tight muscles may be standing in your way of achieving proper squat form. And if you can't squat with proper form, then you're probably not squatting as deep and as heavy as you're really capable of.
13.01.2022 I like to set milestones to the next big event. I'll set a date in my mind when I'm allowed to pig out and eat and booze up as much as I want. It helps me keep on track and train hard in the gym and eat ultra clean until then. How do you stay motivated?
12.01.2022 Sony is selling these in vending machines in gyms across New Zealand (right next to the icy cold Gatorades).

04.01.2022 Losing 10 kilograms of human fat requires the inhalation of 29 kilograms of oxygen, producing 28 kilograms of carbon dioxide and 11 kilograms of water. Thats the metabolic fate of fat.
04.01.2022 Meal prep - bulk boiling chicken breast, broccoli and pumpkin.

01.01.2022 I don't eat pasta very often, but this is incredibly interesting. Researchers recently discovered that cooked, cooled, and then reheated pasta produced a reduced rise in blood glucose by a massive 50 per cent, compared to eating freshly cooked pasta! Sweet!
