24.01.2022 Angus Jones is 12 years old, year 6 at school. He is fearless in the surf in a respectful, calculated way. He is 2015 Bondi Board Riders micro groms Champion. He used to cry in the surf due to Real , crippling, fear. The first time I witnessed him rescue an adult swimmer was when he was 9 with his good friend Grayson on a Sunday at North Bondi. Angus floated the adult non swimmer on is board & dragged him to the near by rocks where the man easily walked to safety. The kids we...re first on the scene because they understood what was happening & knew how to help. They then continued their surf. No debrief, no accolades, just another Real day in the sea. Since then, both kids & other surfers have quietly rescued many swimmers in serious danger & then just kept surfing. Heroes in the eyes of their rescuees. After Angus' latest rescue a couple of weeks ago he happened to mention it to his mum who told his school who gave him an award. Legend. See more

Relationships were formed with Rotary Canggu Balawista Nippers, Bali Green Surf, Bali Soul Surf Project, Canggu Surf Community, Pererenan Surf Club & the primary school at Yeh Gangga. 05.01.2022 Post Surfsquad shower & shampoo for the Denpasar kids on Sunday afternoon. Big thanks to Bali Green Surf School at Seminyak. Every Sunday the surf school drive through heavy traffic to an inner city orphanage. They pile the kids in the van & give them the joy of a late afternoon on the beach plus dinner back at the Hq. Pure.

The man in the red & yellow is Bapak I Gde Berata, founder of the Balawista Bali lifeguards in the mid 1970s & president of Indonesian International Life Saving. A remarkable man. So far a big Terimakasih ( Thankyou ) to Pandawasuite hotel Umalas for accommodating me on arrival. More to come. ....
