20.01.2022 Photographer of the week - Ian Borland Ian has been shooting surfing since the early 70's, starting with a NIKONOS waterproof camera which he still has. He has used all sorts of equipment over the years but now uses Canon cameras and lenses exclusively. He has been published in Surfing World, Backdoor, Surfing (USA), Australian Longboard, Pacific Longboarder and more. These days he is living in Noosa Heads so gets to surf and shoot whenever its on.

15.01.2022 Photographer Focus this week - Tim Kavanagh From a young age I was interested in photography and decided to pick up a camera and capture moments that caught my eye. I have since photographed landscape, cars, weddings and the ocean. However, photographing the ocean is my passion. I love showing people the artistic side of my water photography and the power that the water brings. I have a massive soft spot for shorebreak, getting picked up and tossed onto the sand and feeling h...elpless in mother natures fury. But I also enjoy getting right in the action with the surfer and being there to capture those awesome moments. I love to reconnect myself with the ocean and feel really honoured to live so close and in such a beautiful location in Queensland, where there is always something unique to capture. 15.01.2022 Photographer Focus this week - Steve Core Steve Core has been a Cronulla resident for the last 50 years. In that time Steve has worked in the Shires surfboard industry, and manufactured surfboards under his own name. In the 70s, he produced two full length 16mm surfing films. He has also been a surfing photo journalist for all the worlds leading surfing publications and has scoured many cover shots over the years. In the late 70s Steve published and edited his own Cronull...a-based glossy surfing magazine called Surf Australia. In the 80s Steve also did the live beach commentary on the World Professional Tour of surfing. Steve mixed his surfing life and combined his love of travel, by having a long career with Qantas as a long-haul flight attendant. Then in his last job, he did 8 years with the Australian Defence Force operating flights into the Middle-East. A Gymea resident, Steve now works as the concierge in the Watergrill restaurant overlooking Cronullas famous beaches and Cronulla Point. Steve Core Surf
14.01.2022 Photographer Focus this week - Steve Arklay Steve Arklay is a surf photographer based on the Surfcoast of Victoria living in Barwon Heads with 13th Beach as his local. He has been taking photos for approximately 10 years of his passion for waves, surfing, seascapes and travels. Steves work has been published in numerous magazines, online publications such as Surfline in the USA and is a regular contributor of Wave of the Day for Swellnet. 14.01.2022 Photographer Focus of the week - Murray Johnston I grew up around the cool waters of Tasmania before moving to a warmer climate where I now reside in Byron Bay NSW. I developed a strong connection to the ocean from a very young age so when I picked up a camera at age 18 it was quite a natural pathway that led to capturing moments that I enjoyed in the ocean. Ive been taking photos for 8 years now and love the emotional response or connection you can feel through photography I feel very lucky to be able to spend a lot of time outside and in the ocean through my passions and hope to be sharing a lot more photos in the many years to come.

04.01.2022 Photographer Focus of the week - Glenn Reeves Being fascinated by cameras at a young age and my passion for surfing, the two were always going to mix well. My first published work featuring 46 photos of my local beach appeared in NZ Surfing magazine when I was 18. That gave me even more passion to follow what I loved doing. I was one of the main photographers for Kiwi Surf magazine from its beginnings in the early 1990s and worked with a variety of other water sport publicat...ions over the years. My photos have been used by many surf companies and non-surf companies. I have photographed many of the top surfers in the world.
