09.01.2022 What does your best life look like? I'm currently reading "Your Dream Life Starts Here" by @Kristinakikkik and it has reminded me of the importance of taking time out to dream. And to dream big! When I was at university doing my first degree I would dream about my ideal life. I would fantasise about having a successful career, girlfriends to go out and party with and having a gorgeous boyfriend that I lived with in a cool apartment in inner Melbourne.... This was truly a fantasy for me because of the world I had come from and the way I was raised. As a first generation migrant, with a family that came from a very different culture, it was not what was expected for me. Fast forward 10 years and I get to live my dream. I was able to go from fantasy to reality by being brave and believing in myself enough to change my life. One really useful thing to do if you are not already doing this is to check in with yourself on regular (a few times a day) basis and just ask yourself "How am I feeling?" and very importantly "What do I need?" The tough quarantine we have lived in for the last seven months has taken its toll on the mental and physical wellbeing of many people in our community.
