10.01.2022 **PATIENT OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER** Meet Bass and the tale of another bloody grass seed (literally!) Bass came to see us earlier this month after being sent home from Doggy Daycare with episodes of sneezing and a blood nose. ... Upon examination with Dr. Monica, everything appeared as it should be, other than a tiny cut on Bass' gum and blood on her face and paws. Dr. Monica wasn't 100% convinced everything was as it should be but was satisfied enough with the examination to send Bass home and straight to bed. However, just before Bass was ready to go she had another sneezing fit, so the decision was made to admit her to the clinic for a little bit of sedation and and an 'explore'. Bass was prepped for a bit of twilight sleep and Dr. Monica began to scope her nose to hopefully find out what was irritating her. Upon deeper examination, the right nostril appeared inflamed and filled with blood clots. Dr. Monica then extracted a grass seed! Bass was examined further and once given the all clear, was given a reversal agent and slept off the remainder of the sedation. What a wonderful patient she was but a horrible thing to have happened to her. Bass' Mum assures us she has fully recovered! What a great outcome!
