25.01.2022 Nice to be cruising again:) spent the night in Broughton Island just off Port Stephens. We can feel the summer settling in, Nor’easter blowing and over 30 degrees :)

24.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone. Throwback to nice Sunday in Pomare bay which was our home for close to 5 months in the #bayofislands

24.01.2022 First day of training for the Sydney to Hobart . We still don’t know if it’s gonna go ahead but we’re still going to train hard just for the pleasure of sailing and improve our skills as a team The crew, old and new faces were really happy to be back onboard and it was nice to have friends to play with onboard after 5 months in NZ. Next training will be on next Saturday in Sydney harbour !

24.01.2022 How people who are stuck on boats at sea conduct quarantine? Because of the pandemic, people are stuck not only in apartments and houses, but also on boats in different parts of the world. Three yachtsmen told Forbes Life how they were locked in the coastal waters of foreign countries, what they do in quarantine and how hard they are given isolation. One of them to be interviewed was our captain Ben! Here is the article issued in Forbes Russia.

23.01.2022 5 months since we have left Sydney. New Zealand has been very special despite being here through winter. Looking forward to go home guys!!

21.01.2022 Keep an eye out on www.swanningaround.com for the launch of the new website in the next few days.

21.01.2022 150 Miles To Go! ETA Sydney Heads at about 8:00 AM tomorrow!

21.01.2022 Gday yall So weve successfully completed 1300 miles across the Tasman sea and now stuck in New Zealand for a while. Certainly a bit disappointed not to be on our way to Tahiti as planned but certainly not complaining about our situation. ... Therere 3 of us left onboard the mighty Eve, in the gorgeous bay of islands on the north island . Plenty of work to do onboard, plenty of toys to play with in one of the safest place on the planet. Been racing at the local sailing club Opua, New Zealand while we still can . Good luck to you all Im sure it isnt easy for everybody .

20.01.2022 Website www.swanningaround.com is live Next adventure starts on the 1st of March, heading for Tahiti!

19.01.2022 Well done to Eve team , welcome to Hobart

19.01.2022 Great memories back in @hamiltonislandraceweek 2019! Currently contemplating options of being back for the 2020 edition if the borders dont open by August... stay tuned !

18.01.2022 Good morning world! Another great day ahead. We’re taking the race crew out for a training later today and it’s already a great day

18.01.2022 Those big primary winches are longing to get played with properly. Were down in Whangarei for another week all the way up the river. Well be heading down to Auckland in the next 10 days.

17.01.2022 Eve, coming through Sydney Heads back from a training started in Port Stephens. Pinching to get inside south head with a furled headsail stay sail , 3rd reefed main and reefed mizzen. It was a great day to be out on the water with 40degrees and 40 knots Was good to see a lot of other race boats out training before Cabbage Tree island race coming this Friday, where all the other Boat racing in the #sydneytohobart will be around.

17.01.2022 Almost the end of the holidays. The race crew is coming up the coast by bus for a nice bit of training back to Sydney before our first big race next weekend : cabbage three island race .

16.01.2022 Were coming home! Thanks to our friends at @therockdrive we found a couple of Aussies keen on sailing home ! We might be departing as early as next weekend. On the downside we were disappointed to hear that @hamiltonislandraceweek is for the first time canceled. Very excited to take on a long passage with Eve after all this time sitting still

15.01.2022 6 days and 12 hours later, we made it to the gorgeous Sydney. Awesome time out there, with a wide range of conditions made for a memorable passage :) Now were sitting on a mooring, the police will come pick us up in the morning to start our hotel quarantine - our exemption is yet to be processed ... ... time for a well deserved sleep @jessico_surlo

14.01.2022 On our way back to Sydney after a great time in Hobart. Spend the night in port Arthur and started our journey with 40 knots and a big swell around Tasman island . Now gliding in 18knots of breeze with full sails out

14.01.2022 The Swan 65 'Eve' has officially entered the Hamilton Island Race week that will be held from 15th to 22nd August and Magnetic Island Race Week from 27th August to 2nd September. Both regattas are located in Queensland in Australia, featuring some of the most scenic courses on offer in the world. A good opportunity to join a classic yacht to learn some serious racing skills which will lead some of us all the way to the finish line of the 2020 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. 13.01.2022 Enjoying our cruising time up in Port Stephens. Lots of dolphins, long sandy beaches and good weather. What else do you want ? @ Port Stephens

13.01.2022 Lots of smiles out on Saturday. Electrical tidy up still underway, about 5 garden bags full of old wiring have been removed ! Tomorrow gonna treat ourself to a casual sail and hope to see some whales @ Sydney, Australia

13.01.2022 Very good weekend of training. Some headsail peel practice on the Saturday with a nice 25 to 30 knots and a much lighter day on Sunday where we manage to hoyst the spinnaker twice and performed around 6 dip pole jibes. Getting the roles defined, coordination and practice . In only one month, we will do our first regatta of the season with the Cabbage three island race ! @officialrolexsydneyhobart race has been confirmed and we’re all so excited ! @ Sydney, Australia

13.01.2022 Weve officially entered the 2020 Sydney to Hobart! While Eve is still anchored in New Zealand, waiting for the borders to open, we still dont know if well sp...end our winter in NewCaledonia or in Queensland, were proud to announce that this coming Boxing Day, for the 4th time, we will compete in this legendary offshore race Get in touch with us if you want to be part of this incredible experience. This 3 days passage from Brisbane to Lord Howe Island // Lord Howe Island to Sydney took place in October 2019 and was part of our training prior to the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. We had terrible conditions, 30 to 35 knots on the nose most of the way, even found ourself heaving to during an thunderstorm with gusts in the 50+ knots, but it surely prepared our crew for the big event, which turned out to be a mellow downwind run all the way to Tasmania !

13.01.2022 False start. Perfect weather window, boat all ready to go, fridge full and captain ready to do a solo passage back to Australia but the insurance decided that they wouldnt cover us for a long singlehanded passage on such a big boat. Very disappointing obviously but not worth the risk. So heading back to our anchorage in the Bay of island and hopefully well be able to fly a crew over from Australia soon. Alternatively, if you know of any Aussie in NZ wanting to sail back on the sexiest boat around, hit us up!

12.01.2022 Last news from the @cruising_yacht_club_australia is that the race is still on. They will make a final call for it mid October. In the meantime as soon as the quarantine will be over (6 more days) we will get organised for our first training on the 12th of September is Sydney harbour.

10.01.2022 Another great shot of the boat just before we arrived through Sydney heads. Now in quarantine hotel for the next 12 days ( 2 days done ). The boat is also quarantined until I cleared out. 1284 miles covered at over 8kts average without breaking anything :)

08.01.2022 Eve is getting her wiring tidied up, lots of dead wire pulled out, old systems still clogging the conducts, so tracing and labelling everything. Good fun.. protected from the crowd and westerlies in the harbour. Can you guess where ?

08.01.2022 Here’s a quick unedited video of a kite hoyst from last weekend. A little short handed on the bow, but a rare sight of Steve, the owner bouncing the halyard on the mast ! What a champ

07.01.2022 Thanks Voiles et Voiliers for a nice article

07.01.2022 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT We have made the decision to cancel our trip in the South Pacific in 2020 and to instead come back to Australia. We are looking for crew willing to join us to sail back around the 15th of July from the bay of islands to Brisbane. Bear in mind that you need to be obviously already in NZ since their borders are closed, and need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to be allowed into the country. ... You will also most likely be then stuck in Australia for a while. Some exemption can be granted under specific circumstances to NZ citizen/ permanent resident, which youll find on their website. 06.01.2022 Eve is in Pittwater, getting some renovation done before heading East , to New Zealand and then Tahiti. The floorboards have been sanded back to bare and now sealed. Building coats of varnish over the next week .

05.01.2022 Heres a quick unedited video of a kite hoyst from last weekend. A little short handed on the bow, but a rare sight of Steve, the owner bouncing the halyard on the mast ! What a champ

05.01.2022 25 to 35 knots westerlies in Sydney yesterday. We went for a nice downwind run offshore and come back, got the team to practice reefing and a few tacks and jibes. We were pushing 10’s downwind and around 8 knots on the way up with only our staysail and 2nd reefed main. #spinnaker #bateau #bateauclassic #instasailing #transom #transomtuesday #swan65 #nautorswan #downwind #downwinders #sparkmanandstephens #sparkmanandstephensswan #yachtrace #yachtracing #learntosail #clipperrace #oceanrace #offshorerace #sydneyhobart #sydneytohobart #sydneyauckland #rolexsailingweek #rolexsydneyhobart #rolexsydneyhobartyachtrace #sydneytohobart #sydneytohobartyachtrace #tasmania #sydneysailing #australiasailing #westisthebest

04.01.2022 Enjoy the weekend :) Took a day off and went offshore to try to find some whales to say hi to, but they weren’t around. Still awesome be offshore for an arvo a sail in perfect conditions, anyone who was shooting of Sydney heads at sunset must have some nice shots of us flying into the harbour at 10’knots

03.01.2022 First day of training for the Sydney to Hobart . We still dont know if its gonna go ahead but were still going to train hard just for the pleasure of sailing and improve our skills as a team The crew, old and new faces were really happy to be back onboard and it was nice to have friends to play with onboard after 5 months in NZ. Next training will be on next Saturday in Sydney harbour !

03.01.2022 Pittwater refit is going really well. A good upkeep and service done before the trip to NZ starting on the 1st of March. Thanks for the hand Newbie and Ricardo ! Chris Sweetman awesome job on those floorboards , cant wait to see the finished product.

01.01.2022 Started off strong with up to 45 knots rounding Tasman island, then beating in 25/30 knots northerly across bass strait, now a bit a relaxation with a 5 sail reach sunny/Smokey day was really nice . We will be back in Sydney tomorrow, time to get the boat ready to go to Tahiti in 3 months time
