18.01.2022 When I finish a high school session on self defence, consent, and/or the anthropology of violence I get a line up of teens who want to talk to me about their experiences. They do not want to tell the parents, their teachers or school counsellors. They feel shame, guilt, embarrassment and they have no intention of reporting offences because of the implications of people knowing and the repercussions from offenders. 18+. I wont be holding back on language or talking about adult concepts, cause, somebody has to talk about this.

17.01.2022 Would it surprise you to know that I had a woman ask at the end of a RAVES Self Defence session how I felt about dealing with those women? The women who report rape as revenge or regret? This link reports that less then 1% of rapes are in fact proved false. You can now report a sexual assault online in Queensland. Rock on Queensland Police Service. This link is fab-u-tabulous*.... with clear definitions of sexual assault, legal requirements and the myths that surround ...rape and perpetuate rape culture. It takes courage to tell strangers that someone rammed their penis into your anus because you had your period. When I speak to survivors they talk about the trauma of reporting being as horrendous as the offence... perhaps more-so. And no Dads, your daughter or son wont tell you about it. Because talking about periods, sex and rape make you uncomfortable. And no - you dont actually go and kill them when you find out it was your drunk mate or a football player whos a good bloke. I am your greatest cheerleader. Your greatest defender. I will remind you that you have the power to burn this dysfunction down to the ground with your personal sovereignty. I will stand by your fire and glory in the light. Burn it with your words. Do not be silent. Do not be small. *Ill create my own words thank you patriarchy.

They will be rendered unconscious. Or worse. And there are no personal protection options available to an unconscious victim. RAVES comes at it differently. 09.01.2022 Beginners class question! "I am inquiring about the kids boxing for my 10 year old Son. We have never been to your gym before and would like to try it out. Can you please tell me what time and days you have the classes for beginners?" Thank you for your inquiry! ... We will resume 6 weeks of beginners coaching sessions in October (Monday and Thursday at 4.30pm). These will become available to book through our booking app (see above) in August and will run like a personal group coaching session depending upon the level of skill of the participants for $20 per person. Once people feel confident with their skills and fitness they can then access all classes on the timetable. You can view some of our recorded sessions by going into our facebook videos. That was repulsive. 02.01.2022 RAVES self defence question: I would love to bring my 6yo daughter along to a RAVES class. Is her age a problem? I saw you start from 10... Im thinking this course is something wed do once a year together. And can Dad come too?... Thank you so much for your query! I do have very young kids come along if we havent got a kids session on the calendar (and we dont presently dont to restrictions and hesitant parents). We do talk about sexual assault and adult concepts, but I use the example of when I watched Grease the movie when I was 10 - the concepts of controception and abortion went sailing above my head but I knew the words to every song. And of course, Dads ARE SUPER WELCOME TO COME! It is an amazing experience because they help reinforce the learning and they have these amazing light bulb moments about what it means to be a child or a woman and have to defend yourself against proportionately larger - angrier- people. I cant love my family groups enough as I watch them get a little crazy and have a bonding experience together. I promise it is dry content packaged in fun, it will be more fun than you could possibly imagine....
