25.01.2022 You are either a Nutella person or you aren't. Personally I don't mind this chocolate fudge cupcake with either a Nutella or peanut butter buttercream. What about you?

22.01.2022 Out with the old and in with the new ... well almost, I'm still waiting for the new bench top to be installed (hopefully this week). I can't wait to have everything working and pretty again. Not sure if I'll get the painting and splashback in before Christmas. The fridge has been just inside the front door and it will be so good to get it in the right spot in the actual kitchen. And it's been really strange doing all the food prep in the laundry, I'm so ready for the new kitchen!

21.01.2022 Christmas time seems so rushed and I drag myself to the big day often feeling overwhelmed and tired. But it's a great opoortunity to spend time with really good friends and family. And that is more important than washing up and sleep :) Looks like Santa is dragging his butt too ... Jaiden is having fun trying to catch the bubbles. Come on Santa, only two more sleeps !

20.01.2022 Carrot cupcakes with cream cheese icing. And playing with a chocolate fudge cake with white chocolate drip and Maltesers. Because this was a play cake, I didn't bake from scratch like normal, I've used an Aldi packet mix. I'll let you know what I think.

20.01.2022 It's tough sometimes but someone has to do it .... baking and test tasting Rocky Road cupcakes. The base is chocolate cake topped with marshmellow, chopped Snickers with a generous drizzle of chocolate ganache. I'm not a huge fan of marshmellow but so far my two other taste testers really liked it. I'd be tempted to throw in some glaced cherries. Rocky Road is the only thing I have these in.

18.01.2022 I've been on holidays now for 4 weeks and man has it gone fast. Not much on the cake making while on holidays - too hot!! Had some great mornings on the beach and some ocean cool downs. Planning to get back into cakes again in the next few weeks. ... Happy 2017 - I hope it's started well and only gets better

17.01.2022 Now you see it, now you don't! Husband & wife team share a milestone birthday. The decorations (non edibile) are inspired by Geoff & Anne's current road trip around Australia. Somehow the family convinced them back to their home town for a surprise birthday. Anne's cake was choclate mud and Geoff's vanilla buttercake.

Is the kitchen finished, well almost, I'm still waiting for the splashback tiles to arrive and be installed and the floor to be repolished. Am I happy with it so far - ABSOLUTELY!! 15.01.2022 This is my first cake with fresh flowers and I'm so excited with how it turned out. Love the pink peonies. The macaroons were selected purely to match the colour scheme (raspberry, vanilla and lavender & honey I think from Fifi Le Femme, Kotara), The cake was for a lovely' friend's 50th. We started at my day job on the same day over 18 years ago. The cake flavour was vanilla with butter cream.

14.01.2022 First cupcake order of 2017! The birthday girl had a theme of native American Indian. The party was yesterday afternoon under a tee pee (sheets draped over the old Hill's hoist) - maybe that is a tee tent? I'm sure everyone had lots of fun. Cake flavour was Chocolate & Baileys. No, I didn't realise that this was a native American Indian flavour either but hey, it's yummy no matter where you are born :)

09.01.2022 Something better than cakes? Absolutely! Jackson Edward arrived on Friday afternoon. As he was entering the world, his big brother was cooking pancakes with his aunty. Grandad couldn't wait to meet the new little man.

05.01.2022 It's hard to believe that Marlee is 1 already (well almost). Isn't she a cutie? No bias herel Fabulous party out in the park to celebrate with friends & family. Cake was chocolate mud and I had some help from the lovely Christine Kerr at The Raspberry Butterfly. The cake was decorated as pert of a private lesson. I learned some new techniques plus I don't have a kitchen at the moment.

04.01.2022 I texted some photos to the lady that ordered this cake for her partner. The message I got back was 'It was amazing. I have only eaten 2 cakes in 12 months and they are both from youuuuuu. The rest I screw my face up at.' I was a bit perplexed because Sharon had eaten several of my cakes during the year, particularly my trial recipes. The next text I got was 'That was from Luke'. So I'm guessing the birthday boy enjoyed his cake.... Cake was chocolate with rocky road topping.

03.01.2022 I had a little helper today when making Chocolate & Raspberry cupcakes. As much as he'd have loved to help actually make the cake, he settled on licking the spoon, the bowl, his hands and anything else with cake batter on it. And he's so adorable I could eat him.

02.01.2022 I have an oven and cooktop now and full benchop installed late this week, In the meantime, this is my very handsome godson who had his Year 10 formal this week. It's not just me who thinks he's handsome, Mum & Nan think so too. His little niece seemed to think it's all too much and his big sister just wanted to dance. All the lads looked very handsome in their suits.
