22.01.2022 The Geraldton Ametuer Swimming Club (GASC) held a Development Coaching Course this past weekend with fourteen (14) participants in attendance. Under the careful guidance of WAIS Southern High-Performance Training Centre Head Coach, Will Scott, the beginner coaches learnt the fundamentals of coaching, putting GASC in good stead for the upcoming season. With the unfortunate cancellation of the Geraldton Short Course Classic, it is fantastic to see GASC leading the way and ensuring their members have expertise on pool deck.

I would like to congratulate all of the Award winners for your dedication to the sport of swimming, and huge efforts youve put in - you are all extremely deserving winners. And I do hope the pool start and turn equipment is now installed and can help you all. I am now delighted to announce the winner of the Hancock Prospecting Patron...s Trophy. Awarded to an outstanding West Australian swimmer for his or her performances in and out of the pool. Congratulations Brianna Throssell. Brianna was the only WA representative at the 2019 FINA World Championships, and was a member of the Australian team that won Gold in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay in a World Record Time. Brianna also won Gold in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay and qualified for the final in the Womens 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly. These achievements also see Brianna as the winner of the Lyn McClements Swimmer of the Year Medal. We look forward to seeing Brianna excel in the years to come. A wonderful ambassador for our sport and state. On behalf of the Hancock Prospecting Group, and our foundation, I again congratulate all award nominees and recipients.
